Congratulations, Samo. Note: Since we haven't heard from Samo by now, I presume that he's out on some jungle sojourn. Looking forward to more "on scene" photos from Samo.

glockman99 and Jeff/1911, why stop at G-10? While we're wishing for aftermarket stick 'ems why not wish for other veneer materials (e.g., exotic woods, MOP, abalone, textured rubber, etc.). Wouldn't that be a hoot! In a post long ago on a similar topic someone gave a link to a company that actually ...

nick, nice score on the "R." I agree with Bruceter that it is a slim and light carry that you hardly notice in your pocket. One caution though--don't spread peanut butter with this knife! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

sven, isn't it nice that we have so many versions to pick from? I'm sure others will chime in with their pros and cons but one of the reasons why I like the ss Police is "durability." I'm the type of guy that likes steel shafts on my golf clubs (irons) even though graphite shafts could giv...

Joyce, you never cease to amaze me. Too bad more women don't have the same mindset about knives as you do. You go girl!

Btw, before you ask, this week my EDC is a plain-edged, G-10 Police.

KBR, nice sheath. It looks like the knife is mounted butt-end in. If that's the case, then how do you like the draw with the knife neck-carried? Do you deploy (and open) the knife using a reverse grip? SpydercoKnut, notice that the Ayoob's profile is pretty near that of the Catcherman. If MBC use is...

dialex, I think all of the Shabaria's were made with VG-10 blades and micarta scales. The micarta finish is matte and not highly polished as, for example, the glossy Viele's (left side scale) which may be cause for some confusion. Notwithstanding the above, it is possible that this may have been a p...

I like my Toad but don't carry it often since I'm afraid I might lose it when clipped to my rear pocket. Maybe I should carry it like some of you who carry it at the bottom of the (front) pocket.

Mine is numbered--are they still made numbered? I wouldn't mind a PE to go with my SE.

Knife buyers are very fortunate these days because of the large number of manufacturers making a large variety of knife designs with a wide price range. CS is often maligned as a maker of "cheap stuff" by those able to afford more expensive knives. I would prefer to characterize CS as a ca...

cmassicotte, I'll be on the lookout for your post. Btw, I thought the CF Police are coming out with a hollow ground--as opposed to flat ground--blade? Maybe it should have been made the other way around, i.e., flat ground blade for the CF Police and hollow ground for the G-10 Police. Oh well, I'll t...

Wow, java, that's a wealth of information on the sashimi knife.

I've never tried it but I wonder if a flat ground, plain-edged Police (G-10) could work as a folding sashimi knife in the field.

I own alot of Spyderco knives; however, I estimate that it is only 20% of my collection. I think Benchmade (5% of my collection) is a likely competitor when comparing type of catalog knives and pricing. The remaining 75% of my knives are from various other manufacturers and custom makers.

I can't decide which one is my favorite. It seems I cannot define "favorite knife": is it the one you use the most or is it the one you love the most so you use it infrequently to ensure its longevity? If forced for an answer, I guess my favorite Spyderco would be the one with the opening ...

4 s ter, the reason I asked who were on the so-called expert panel is related to a previous thread on the Bladeforums Spyderco forum. Who were the people on the "Expert" panel? Some comments: I'm surprised with the absence of the BM 710, CS Gunsite, MT LCC, Rekat SIFU and Spyderco Civilian from the list. Why the BM CQC-7? (I would have opted for the Emerson waved version). I guess it might have something to do with the s...
