I agree with Seth....the Civilian would be good if you want to disable, not kill someone, and if you don't have training. But if you can work the Gunting, and want way more options in terms of non-letal moves...the Gunting would be better. Heck, I'd get both....hehe

A question for Sal: I know you talked about locks and rating the strengths, which you said you ddin't like to do. B...

EDC? Best bet would be a Pro-Grip. 60/40 edge, great blade style with an excellent grip. Don't get me wrong, the Starmate and Military are great, but for what you want to use it for (general use, etc.) a Pro-grip would be your best bet. Those others are BIG, I would know. (:-)) Best would be the sta...

Good choice, now you'll have to go bigger. Maybe a military? Or the Lum? :-)

question

Sal, How many Gunting knives have/are you going to produce? I'm looking to buy one and was wondering the numbers. Also....for all the spydie owners out there, what would be the best knife for defensive carry? I'm looking at the Gunting or the Starmate. One last thing...could anyone explain how the n...

Military or gunting?

Which do you perfer? Why? I'm looking at the gunting more because of the awsome compression lock, but am also interested in the military. Why would you perfer the one ver the other? I love the clip on the gunting...shows what you got on the inside of your pocket! hehe. Thanks for the advice.

Native, Harpy, WHAT?!?!?!

I'm looking for my fifth spyderco to add to my collection of: Civilian, Police, Spydercard, and Pro-grip. First off, great knives. Second, all are good for different functions. Police: heavy cutting. Pro-Grip: fishing (love that sport). Civilian: cool knife added to my collection. spydercard: great ...

looking for my first spyderco

I'm looking for my first spyderco, and narrowed it down to three. Those are, the fully serrated stainless steel handle Police, Stainless steel handled Pro-Grip, or the Stainless steel harpy. Does anyone have a suggestion or opinion on which I should buy. I plan on using it daily and carry it around ...
