Re: Issue with Multi Page Search Results
Does it every time for me, and for every page. If I wait until the 30 seconds have passed before looking at Page 2, I need to wait again before getting to Page 3, etc etc.

Issue with Multi Page Search Results
Hi, I notice a hiccup with search, where more results are returned than can fit onto a single page. When you click on the link for the next page you get something along the lines of Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in 26 seconds. Is there a workaround for this? It seems...

"The bright blade appears in his hand as though he had sprouted it to replace his sixth finger. The knife is called a Harpy and it has a serrated blade shaped like a talon."

I'd probably have tried to catch it, ending up with blood on the floor as well as chip.

Re: UK Penknife Blade Pivot Problems
I'm thinking along those lines. Either something like 800 grit Silicon Carbide paper (what we call "wet and dry" over here) wrapped round a dowel, or maybe a tight fitting dowel with metal polish. I think I'll leave it for the moment though, see whether Spyderco respond during next week.

Re: UK Penknife Blade Pivot Problems
Cheers. I was actually thinking of dropping Spyderco a line, see what they suggest. I'd rather fix it than replace since I've spent time getting the blade to my preferred edge. It's the current model FRN with flat ground BD1 blade from one of the major UK dealers, Heinne Haynes, so can't imagine for...

UK Penknife Blade Pivot Problems
Hi, My UKPK is only a week or so old, and pretty much unused except for playing around with it. Today I noticed it seems to be much stiffer to open and close, not the original slick operation. Slacking the pivot screw didn't seem to alter it at all, nor even slacking all the screws right off. Neithe...

Re: Trend Toward Wide Bladed Spyders?
Both of those "blades" are the exact same thickness at the spine, but obviously one of them is going to slice far better than the other. I think this trend you're seeing is just a trend in higher performance slicing blades. Now, of course those are both zero grinds, but if you consider th...

Thanks, yes that's what I was meaning. Wondering if anyone does this for themselves, and any pointers about how to do it manually without making a mess.bearfacedkiller wrote:... If you were asking how the regrind itself is done then I would assume it is being done on a belt sander.aesmith wrote:Interesting. How is this done?

Re: UKPK sprint blade shape poll
One additional thing, without a lock then a blade with the point high will be less likely to close when making a piercing cut.

Looking at the feedback on that web site, some of the buyers seem to be well aware they're buying fakes. Can't understand that myself.

Re: UKPK sprint blade shape poll
Speaking just for myself I prefer the Drop because there's less blade sticking out when it's folded. I'm not sure the difference in edge curvature is that significant between the current Drop and Leaf, although I'm just comparing pictures because I only have Drop in the the flesh.

Re: First Spyderco(s)
This is what people do to me - show pics and make me want new knives. ;) Now you're the one being a bad influence. As it happens the Urban doesn't do it for me in leaf blade form, although I like the orange wharncliffe. I don't think I'd benefit going down a size from the UKPK unless it was slimmer...

Re: First Spyderco(s)
That's strange how your knife didn't come sharp. I've never had a single Spyderco knife come any less than shaving sharp. I found an old Delica 1 from the 90's at a local hardware store, and it was still razor sharp with the factory edge. It shouldn't be too difficult to sharpen it up though. I've ...
