Re: Do you value inhouse designs higher than collaboration models?
My favorite 4 or 5 Spydies have both Glessers, Kevin Smock and Martin Slyscz represresented. So I voted no. However I think it’s undeniable that Spyderco is founded on Sal’s designs. How many Delica’s, Endura’s and Dragonflies are there in circulation? Millions I would guess. Similarly PM 2 and Mani...

Re: Double bill
When I carry 2 knives it’s usually a Dragonfly in ZDP 189 with a larger folder. When I travel a Native 5 and a Pioneer X are the pair. I keep a Rescue Assist in the car so I would have a serrated blade nearby if the need arose.

Re: My dream Smock !
I’m hoping for a regular production model in S45 VN or LC 200 N with not black scales. I would buy one in black but then add aftermarket scales if this came to pass. The Smock is easily the best implementation of the compression lock so far. I don’t think going forward I will buy multiple examples o...

Re: What’s wrong with this knife?
Other than the fact that it doesn’t lock? Nothing but that is key for me. I own, but never carry a slip joint. I have cut myself with a slip joint several times. Yes it was operator error. I have also cut myself with fixed and locking blades. However I have cut myself more often with slippies. As a ...

Re: 2021 Multi-tool Review
I have 3 Leatherman tools. I bought a Wave first, then a Crunch (locking pliers), I have settled on one with fewer tools than either of those but a better implementation of the driver. A Skeletool CX. The CX has some carbon fiber for looks but a knife blade that’s CPM 154. With a bit kit you have a ...

Can you return the knife? And wait for the CQI to be guaranteed. I don’t know if I could do that once I had one in my hand.

Re: What scale color for the upcoming MagnaCut sprint?
Anything besides black G10. Manix, Chaparral or Sage 5 seem like good choices for the model. It’s almost certainly going to be another PM 2 in some boring black though.

Re: Endela All stainless steel
I had a titanium phase and before that collected other knives. Some of them are pretty heavy for folders compared to most Spydies. Steel is not something I would want. I bet they offer it eventually though. I actually like FRN and FRCP and carbon fiber and wood all better than steel or titanium.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
I would love to see another Massad Ayoob Spyderco collaboration. If for no other reason than it would be generally available. The C-60 looks similar (to me) to some of my favorite Spyderco knives. Ed Schempp designs. I think it’s the negative blade angle. I’m a fan of Spyderco knives generally but l...

In my limited experience it doesn’t split as easily as pine. I believe whale boats were made with cedar (think Moby Dick era). So it’s certainly strong.

Re: Picked up a Sun and Moon Chaparral for my bday. First Taichung knife and it's perfect.
I got one this week. Immediately removed the clip and put it in a leather slip. Will carry in the slip or watch pocket. The thin stock and XHP steel make this knife an outstanding slicer. The workmanship, like my other Taichung knives is excellent.

Re: The "compression made easy"-device - does it actually improve the comp.lock?
Looks like a "solution looking for a problem" but if people like it then I guess more power to them. I'd rather see the button version made on more models. Guess you've never experienced arthritis or neuropathy in your hands. This could be a godsend for people with those issues who have c...

I’d love to see more XHP as well. Could it make it to Seki City models? The Rockjumper would be a good choice. Any of the Golden made knives in XHP would be awesome.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
I dunno. I still think it’s ugly. With all due respect I'm just curious>>> Have you ever used a C-60 Ayoob model before? Because if you have not I do believe your attitude would change dramatically after carrying one and using it for at least a week or so. The C-60 Ayoob is one of Spyderco's knives...

I think the Spyderco app could be a good way to find out about exclusives. I don’t use my app much but if you download and turn on notifications you could try it and delete it if it doesn’t work.

I too would like to see what you come up with. I agree pine would keep the weight down but it isn’t very durable. Red cedar is light and strong.

Re: Have you been to the Spyderco Factory Outlet?
Dinosaur Ridge Trail is nearby, sounds cool to me. It is a short and heavily trafficked according to my research but they allow leashed dogs. Dogs are everywhere in Colorado so your pooch will fit right in. You absolutely should make time for SFO. I have been several times and try to make time when ...
