Re: VG10 HRC
Thanks! I’ve been really surprised with the VG10 on my Delica I bought last year. No chips or rolls and the retention has been really good. Interesting you'd say that: I always have the feeling that "new" VG10 (so on my newer Seki Spydies) holds an edge longer than "old" VG10. C...

You really don´t!SaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:04 amThat’s a good pic Dan and I gotta get one of those clips
( ....Just kidding of course, more power to all who (unlike me) enjoy deep carry! )
And yes, nice knife and pic indeed!

Re: This knife should be in production…My dream hunting knife put together.
I would be using it mostly for gutting and cleaning up deer and larger game. I used a Shaman S30V to gut and clean last fall's deer and it made short work of it. I like to cut thru the sternum to remove the upper chest organs. It takes a hefty blade and you really have to battle with it. My only fe...

Re: This knife should be in production…My dream hunting knife put together.
Nice knife indeed (except I personally am not into deep carry clips), thanks for sharing! :clinking-mugs But for hunting: Wouldn´t the thinner Bodacious blade be even better? (I am not a hunter (harder to become here in middle Europe than in most of the US), so this is really more a question than a ...

Re: Is this the knife everyone clamors for?
I like my Manix 2 BBL exactly the way it is, thank you. I almost 100% refuse to buy lockback knives. Why? (Honest question, out of interest!) The backlock has an even stronger closing bias than the CBBL, is very versatile in the ways it can be closed one handed, can do that "fingers out of the...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
How are the serrations on a Stretch 2 XL salt SE ? Welcome to the forum! .. and you might want to post your question here https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=95991 too, I figure more people would get aware of it that way (I can´t answer it, don´t have a Stretch XL Salt yet. But if I get one:...

Re: Spyderco Models We Need In FULL SE
...A SE Manix 2 LW in Magnacut would make for a great camping/backpacking knife. Agreed, and I was so hoping that with the Manix 2 LW Salt finally an ffg SE version would come too... But that said: The Endela SE could be a nice alternative for you: About the same size (slimmer in pocket, actually),...

Re: Good second Spyderco
Just to close the loop, I ended up ordering a PM2 today. I’m excited about it! I definitely don’t need it and could absolutely live with this Delica but what fun is that? 😉 Perfect choice! I think everyone should try a PM2 at one point, and it is a great knife no doubt! And for you it also means yo...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Stretch 1 for today, one of my all time favorites. Did not carry it much lately, but there were times when this model even competed with the Endura 4 for my favorite folder ever out of all brands (and I guess overall it will always be in my top three). Seen here with another favorite of mine, the ol...

Re: Good second Spyderco
.. Again, many thanks for the input. I LOVE the Delica. Against the advice of others, I ended up going with a SG. My Pac 2 is a SE. So I can definitely see something like a PM2 in my future. Or at a minimum, a FFG Delica. I prefer the ffg Delica as a cutting tool, and its blade imo is still easily ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Pretty cool, gives the Shaman a completely different look!
How much shorter did the blade and the handle get?
Is it a true "four finger only when using the choil"-knife now?

Re: Tip Up vs Tip Down Poll
... and concerning the poll: 100% Tip up guy here, even on larger folders ( I have rather large hands with long fingers and don´t like deep carry clips, so being too far from the opening hole has never been an issue for me) For example: If (rather WHEN) I get another Millie 1, I´ll definitely come u...

Re: Tip Up vs Tip Down Poll
For me it totally depends on the knife. I prefer tip up as long as the knife is both (1) small enough that I can easily access the hole in tip up configuration without "scooching up" the handle after drawing the knife.... Probably this thread is inspired by the new "byte" anyway...

https://i.postimg.cc/rpMfnMcX/20240408-141407.jpg I really wish they´d have given this one an SE version... like it is the case with pretty much all other (I guess??) Non - G10 Salt knives.. Manix 2 LW in SE, regardless of the steel: Instant purchase. And Magnacut definitely not the worst option he...
