Re: Byrd Raven or Pole Star: Which one?

Polestar for me. I, personally, am not a fan of large finger choils on my knives. So, the Polestar's lack of choil is appealing as it gives more edge length in a slightly shorter blade. I also like the Polestar's handle scales a little better because they're not just the standard black G10 that come...

Re: Native LW Maxamet

I may be buying this one just for the color of the FRN. I have a N5 LW S110V that I absolutely love, and I don't really need this. But, gray is my favorite color of FRN and this will look great alongside my gray Delica and Endura.

Re: Combo edges

The only pocket knives I have that come like this are Victorinox 111mm One-hand knives. I find it pretty handy. One main reason I prefer serrations toward the tip is because oftentimes serrations are most helpful in a tight squeeze where only the tip will fit where you're cutting. Also, I often find...

Re: Anyone see Apostle P's rant on Spyderco?

There is literally not one person on this planet, not even Sal himself, that I would put 100% trust in reviewing any knife for me. In other words, I form my own opinions. There are some people who I respect and who I believe have similar enough tastes to my own that their opinion is enough to give ...

Re: DF2 blade play question

I have 3 Dragonflies, all have some up and down play, all did out of the box. I think it comes with the territory when dealing with small linerless back locks. It's certainly more prevalent in the linerless models. It was more noticeable on the Gen 1 and Gen 3 Delicas and Enduras than the current 4...

This is less true now that the Delica has it's slightly more rounded tip. Getting rid of the "splinter picker" tip of the Delica is the most annoying thing Spyderco has ever done to me.

FRN Chap will be coming in the near future.
Then I'm "Golden" (pun intended even though the Chaps come from Taichung).

Re: How about increasing the blade length of the Dragonfly to 2.45''?

The biggest reason a larger Dragonfly is more appealing than the Cat or Chapparal is that its linerless FRN handle lends itself to a level of lightweightedness (probably not a word) that the others can't achieve. I've also found the Dragonfly's handle better accomodates larger hands than the Cat. My...

Re: Prediction for the Efficient

My intention was not to fuel such a debate.I just realized that Efficient is a nice design with a big potential for upgrade. If you ask me, they should have decided to implement such a nice design in a premium folder(Taichung made even) from day one. Marius But the value line deserves great designs ...

Re: Kershaw Emerson CQC-6K.....uh oh...

I bought my brother-in-law a Kershaw CQC-7K (tanto version of the 6K) last Christmas. I haven't bought one for myself yet, but I was very impressed by the quality that Kershaw is putting into the Emerson collabs. I've been considering getting myself either the 6K or the 4KXl ever since.

Re: 2017 Catalog...what's at the top or your list?

The Para 3 for sure. I haven't seen this one mentioned yet, but I'm excited to take a close look at the Polestar. I know it's a value offering and not that exciting for the majority here, but I think the Polestar could easily become the go-to knife for people who like the Para 2 but aren't willing t...

Re: Delica G10 S110V

Even if they sent S110V to Japan, it seems unlikely we'd see a Blurple G10 Delica. The G10 Delica and Endura were discontinued originally because they just didn't sell well compared to the FRN models.

Re: Here's my wants - What's My Knife?

I would go with a dragonfly. For a small knife it's really comfortable in the hand. Also the wire clip is pretty discreet. Which version? I see quite a few different options when I type in Dragonfly at online shops. Many colors, most with the VG10 blade for around $50, but then there's a 'foliage g...

Cat or Dragonfly get my vote. Chaparral if you want to spend a little extra money.
