Re: P'KAL vs ELVIA reverse edge edc review and comparison

Thanks for doing this comparison.

I used to own the P'kal and the trainer. Everything about that knife was good except that it opened to easily for me. Still, I plan on getting the upcoming mini version.

Re: Smaller P'kal

Your pics make me think that a Waved Delica Wharncliffe needs to happen; a more affordable conventional grip 'tactical/utility' P'kal.

This would be my new EDC.

The Reveal 9 is a ghost.

Maybe it'll show up for Halloween.

Re: What about the Endela

Thanks. This sized blade just fits me better than the Endura or Delica, so it's a no brainer for me.

I'd like see the Emerson opener on either one of these blade shapes. There's no "waved" wharnie and the only "waved" hawkbill is the Karahawk.

I like the size.
I'd like to see an Emerson opener hawkbill and/or wharncliff version.

Re: Small Folders Okay Gor Self Defense?

For anyone interested, John Shirley, the designer of the Spyderco ARK, has a YouTube video on how to use that small knife for self-defense. My opinion is that any size knife can potentially be used defensively. Depending on many factors, sometimes one size is more appropriate than another. Choose wi...

Re: Small Folders Okay Gor Self Defense?

Former Green Beret James Morgan Ayres used to teach self-defense classes to women. His recommended knife was the Cricket. Details can be found in his interesting book, The Tactical Knife. KaliGman, who used to post here often, still has a YouTube video up on using a small knife. In the video he uses...

Any chance of having a P'kal type removable Emerson opener on the upcoming FRN version?

I am patiently waiting for the LW version. I hope the steel used is more corrosion
resistant than S30V.

Re: Byrd Cara Cara 2 Emerson Opener: NEAT!

Thanks. I believe I will enjoy it a lot. I really like the handle. And with the thinner blade, it's a great slicer for sure. I haven't bought a Byrd since the G10 Crossbill came out years ago. I didn't like that knife and got rid of it. This Cara Cara, on the other hand, is a keeper. The overall qua...

Re: Byrd Cara Cara 2 Emerson Opener: NEAT!

Picked one of these up yesterday and really like it. It fits in my hand very well. Hard to beat it for the price. My only concern is that the blade is thinner than even my FFG Endura.
Although it would raise the price, I would like one with a thicker blade.

Also, Eric mentioned the great lock strength it has.
