Re: Carothers
I've had my Field Knife for about a year and a half now, and I'm very fond of it, but it's too much knife for my EDC uses, so it only gets used when I make a point of carrying it, or for camping. I'm hoping the Dek1 fits into my EDC rotation better. I'd been looking at Kepharts for a while now, and...

Re: Hapstone V7
Thought I’d just tag onto this thread with a Hapstone question. Finally caved after all these years and bought a guided system to do some heavy reprofile work. I got the V8. I’m impressed with the build quality and was able to get some great results fairly quickly. My question is what is the best ap...

Absolutely yes @autoxer. CBN or diamond rods will save you a bunch of wasted time on those really dull edges/reprofile jobs.

Re: If you are NEW to sharpening, or having DIFFICULTY, YOU NEED TO SEE THIS THREAD
If we want to make this thread more interesting we should all have USB microscopes and take pictures of our edges and share, that will be a much more rewarding discussion than just conjecture which is boring. If everybody could save a dollar a week for example, then in 10 months, we could all affor...

@deadboxhero Yes!
Hey Shawn, is the edge on the original post freehand or guided? Just curious.

Re: If you are NEW to sharpening, or having DIFFICULTY, YOU NEED TO SEE THIS THREAD
Excellent Shawn! I’ve said many times that if you could have a live mentor at your side, the sharpening learning curve would be SO much shorter. It was often a struggle to translate written descriptions and assumptions into reality when I was learning. This is the next best thing. I look forward to ...

Re: Question for Sal about Karahawk
That’s what appealed to me originally…the thought you could have a good edc that’s a great defensive blade as well. I carried my old one clipless for a while. It’s so thin, that works pretty well. And you can still easily wave it open once you grab the ring. That was my solution for not flashing th...

Re: Question for Sal about Karahawk
Nice Mr Zrowsn! I have one inbound as well. I think you’ll find a lot of utility in that little blade. Had the original and let it go years ago. Always wanted to try the g-10 ring version (old one had the gap between the rings). I think the blackout helps this model be a little more discreet as well...

Re: Clip Finish
I really like black clips on all models, regardless of the blade and handle finish/colour. Really enjoy seeing the wear. My favourite spoon clips are the black ones out of Taiwan (like on the Gayle Bradley) +1 +2 :) I like this Carribean clip better than the stock for the Swayback. https://i.imgur....

Re: Rattled Canis
Yesterday when I thought to try a tiny drop of oil on the detent ball, it made no difference. Today it’s quiet for the first time ever! I guess some oil migrated to that stop pin. So you may not even have to disassemble. Try a little oil on the edges of the pin itself.

Ah thx. I started to take it apart the other day and it apparently is locktited…tight! I’ll heat it up soon and try the grease.

Rattled Canis
So my Canis has a rattle up front (pivot end) when closed. It goes away as soon as the detent is broken, all the way to fully locked open, anywhere in that range it’s fine. I assume it’s the detent ball rattling. Anyone experience this minor annoyance and find a fix on this or other models? Maybe a ...
