I think that the CF Civilian is one of the best knives made by Spyderco. The fit, finish, balance, and design are all first rate. IMO it is more comfortable to carry than the G10 version. The elegant looks also make it seem less tactical in appearance. A must have for collectors and serious users al...

Matt, you're gonna like that almite Navigator. Real slick! I'm starting to prefer the Nav's blade better than the Dragonfly's. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

G'day Bill. If you are able to find a dealer that carries both of these knives (or know people who own them), you should try handling both--preferably side-by-side--before deciding. They both have comfortable grips--in their own way. The Co-pilot seem to fit nicely in the palm area while the Navigat...

The color could also be done with almite. The blue(?) on the almite Navigator is nice. How about a Police with the same handle material and color as the new Navigator?

You're in trouble! The updated Viele is one sweet knife--premium materials (VG-10 & micarta), non-scary profile blade but sneaky tactical, not too "big" and not too "small" overall length. If you're right-handed there's a nice thumb shelf; if you're left-handed, you might wan...

Advantages of Boye cutout on lockbacks?

I notice that some new lockback Spyderco's are coming out with the Boye cutout on the lock release. What are the advantages of this design versus the regular release that follow the profile of the handle? Is it to make it easier to locate the release in the dark or for visually impaired knife users?

Maybe the "weakness" is caused by the semi-circle cutout on the Shabaria's clip to expose the pivot screw (for adjustment clearance).

I see alot of Sal's thinking in the Military and other regular production models. However, I agree that a Glesser Custom Collaboration (not a regular production knife) is in order to honor one of the most influential knife designer on the planet. The knife should be a user and be made with premium m...

PsychMajor, I like the design and size of the Zowada. I only wish that it came with a VG-10 blade (w/plain edge option). The liner locking bar could be beefed up on the update as well (hint). The design almost begs to have the handle to be heightened in the butt to cover more of the swedge.

Schedule of Upcoming Releases?

I feel the need to buy another Spydie. What is the next model (new or update) to be released and when is it due out? Can a schedule be posted for the upcoming releases for the next 6 months? Year? Need to see what's coming up on the radar screen so I can budget my money. <img src="wink.gif"...
