Re: My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !

:D This thread made me smile. Visited Golden last week and of all the temptations to choose from, I brought home a Brouwer. Liked the looks of it at first sight, but was a bit put off by the S30V. No regrets now having handled one. I hope there are other variations someday. Might as well mention, as...

Re: Bradley folder

Can we get a Bradley folder 2 with g-10 handle scales and CPM 20CV steel, the Bradley currently is m-4, which is a terrible ruster, and I am an outdoor welder and in the summer the Texas heat is terrible and I sweat like a dog. Along with it can you put a DLC coating on it? Welcome to the forum, li...

Re: Oats

yeah I like oatmeal especially. I really like the "old fashioned" oatmeal that you have to cook a longer period of time. I do not like those instant or microwave oatmeals at all. For the past few years I refuse to eat anything out of a microwave oven after I learned how they destroy the n...

Re: What Millie will be 'revealed' next?

I realize this is borderline blasphemy here, but I'm going there. M2HS...I've loved this stuff for a long time and am lucky to have a few pieces with it. We're lucky to have Millies in all kinds of combinations that cover almost all bases. My experience with Maxamet has been frustration, consequentl...

Re: Spyderco Puukko 2018

BD1N is the best choice available as of 2018. Working hardness of 63 and very stable, aebl would be nice but is lower strength. There are other steels like Nitrobe77 that have great promise but just like Vanax are cost prohibitive and probably only for custom knife makers. CPM M4 seems to be prone ...

Re: Worst things to cut thread

I cringed a little thinking of using a pocket knife to cut shingles. I can't imagine how many of those Stanley hook blades I've gone through, but if they weren't soft from being hot I used a pair of 10" tin snips (the old-school type). They didn't have to be sharp and were faster on the two-lay...

The Mastiff;903619]Welcome Termite! Thank you for the welcome, Mastiff. You've definitely been around some railroadin'! Those 40's have always been a favorite, but they've really thinned down. Was lucky to get a couple of them last night. Run like champs and sound so sweet. I have loved the big dies...

OK, normally I do not jump into the forums but just read them to get a feel for what is going now. In real life I am the Commercial Manager for Knife Blades for Carpenter Technology and I need to clear the air here. Carpenter is NOT discontinuing CTS 204P. There are a number of custom makers that l...

I am an all American (or colombian when it comes to machetes) made person and I must say, Some of what I have seen come out of Taiwan beats custom Italians or Mid Tech Americans. Glad you caved in. Sal has a good nose for choosing the best, he wouldn't settle for anything less them improvement. CQI...

Gayle Bradley...OK, now I get it.

I'm embarassed to say how many Spydercoes (sp?) I own...duplicates and even triplicates of several Sprints, but I finally caved on my aversion to the Gayle Bradley (yes, I admit it's origin was a factor). These are gorgeous and I hereby publicly apologise for my bias...my loss. They are really nice!

Another thanks for the reminder, Kristi. It's already too easy to find nasty in the world. Consequently, places like this are appreciated.
