I do know that Chaparral is supposed to be a template for handle materials and use CTS XHP throughout the line, but wouldn't it be tempting to run the Bronze Chaparral with CPM M4? :) This way we'd get to follow both the blade and the handle developing character. Those that are very worried about c...

That Shaman is sounding mighty fine. I can't wait to learn more. Thanks for taking the time to share all of this info with us. Some definite gold nuggets, for sure. ;)

I guess it's completely useless to hope to see some S110V on a UKPK?

The issue is not who's vulnerable today - this vulnerability has existed for something like a year or two. So I would think that most of the damage has already been done...? That's definitely a good point. There's rumblings that the federal government may have known of the exploit and kept it quiet...

Although I love my Caly 3.5, I'd probably go with a Native 5. Stout lock, thick blade that can still slice and good grip.

I'm hoping the Shaman will push it to a 3.5 inch blade on the Native platform.

From your video, and please correct me if I am wrong, you explained that there is a big jump from the CBN rods to the medium rods. I wonder if there is a less of a "jump" from the diamond rods to the medium rods. This would make sharpening a bit quicker, no?

Cliff, thank you very much for taking the time to make a video about the CBN rods. Have you had any experience with the diamond rods?

I'm not sure if the CBN rods are worth investing into if one must jump from those to the medium rods (as you explained).

Thank you for the sharing of the data you have discovered so far, Cliff. I find any possible new additions to the Sharpmaker very exciting. Are the CBN rods similar to the alumina ceramics of the brown and white rods? In essence, will CBN wear away over time or break off (as has been reported on the...

How long did you let the rods sit in the solution? Roughly, how much Simple Green to water did you use?

Thanks for the tip - you have piqued my curiosity. ;)

It is an extremely hard abrasive, much harder than aluminum oxide and even silicon carbide, and harder than the carbides in steels, even vanadium carbide. For industrial sharpening it has benefits over diamonds as it isn't prone to carbon diffusion wear and will not build up heat as fast as diamond...

I only seem to remember that Sal mentioned that they were trying out a harder material for Sharpmaker rods. I don't recall him discussing any particular material.

What are the characteristics of cubic boron nitride?

I had a similar reaction. But the Wharncliffe 4 and Native 5 LWT remain at the top of my list. I'd like to know the weight of the Bowie design.

We brought up the concept with the maker. sal Please pardon my nosiness, but have you ever considered this before, Sal? I agree with Roman and FCM. We need to make Caly sprints as popular and as frequent as the other popular models (Military, Manix, PM2, etc.). ;)

I agree and since I like to use my Caly's, I would much prefer a G10 sprint with a high-end steel.

Nothing planned. Whatdoyouwant? sal I'd like a new, stainless steel. Something a bit easier to sharpen than ZDP-189. I'd also like navy blue or coyote brown G10. Is Hitachi the only foundry that Spyderco works with in Japan? I just find it weird that American foundries are constantly bringing new c...
