What if you just shaved down the original FRN backspacer and grafted a piece of the material you really want to use/show onto that?

No. If anyone considers it such then Spyderco has surely fallen a long way from the company who : -introduced the Sharpmaker -if not invented, certainly popularized/developed the folding clipit -designed a unique and functional serration pattern and variants -started inhouse materials testing (CATR...

I'm the one that originally brought up the HAP 40 choice. However, I'm down with Invective's selection of XVC-11 too. I think an M4 analog for the JP models will be killer!

I'm hoping that there will eventually be a collaboration with Jakub/Poltergeist Works. He has many great designs.

I agree with Ted about the black adding something to the overall design and would liekly pick one of the bottom two for me. However, going back to the photo a few times, the top option is starting to grow on me. ;)

I could be wrong but I would think the compression lock would be difficult to make work with FRN construction. Now you have me thinking, are there even any liner locks with FRN? I don't think there are... theres probably a reason for that. Spyderco has produced a FRN compression lock -- C66 Vesuviu...

It is probably just some dust/dirt/debris that got into the action. Before disassembling, you can try to flush it out using hot water. The aluminum will conduct the heat to help the remaining water evaporate. Follow that with some lube to see if the grittiness is gone. Are there washers in the Spyde...

I realize Spyderco's plates are quite full with meeting current demand, but I'd like to propose an idea for another forum knife (whenever the Crew gets a chance to work on another amazing piece for its forumites and fans): Update the Manix 83mm with the lock changes found on the forum Native5, mix ...

Count me as a fan of the Rookie. I agree with Evil D's statemtn about blade/handle ratio. I also really like the overall lines of the design, especially compared to the Delica.

I only recognize a few things wrong at this point (relying just on memory)...
  1. Wrong blade shape or blade swap on Orange Urban
  2. Wrong blade shape or blade swap on Orange UKPK
  3. Wrong Clip style on Orange Manix 2
Hopefully that jump starts someone to get the other 5(!) errors.

I think the Scorpius would benefit from changing the handles from SS to G-10 just like the Poliwog and Lava got. It's what I've been waiting for to add the model to my own collection.
