Re: 2023 Forum Calendar Contest!
The young Atlantic never did quite fit in with his family, but after his nosejob things have gotten positively worse, his own kind turning their clip-sides on him. Shunned, he wanders aimlessly until he meets another misfit. The newcomer is far from home and can’t stay here for long, as prolonged ex...

Re: The Completely Unnecessary Military Appreciation Thread!
Gratuitous pic after replying in the other thread. Thrown in a BG-42 as well for Brother JD's sake ;) I had one of those D-2 Military models of Spyderco's a few years back. It seemed like at one time that the D-2 Military model along with the Military model they made with BG-42 were both very highly...

Re: CPM-D2
I've had very good overall experience with CPM-D2, easy to resharpen/maintain, stable apex, no corrosion (just some pitting that I was able to remove with a fingernail). Would I buy now something with CPM-D2? Not sure, would depend on the model I guess (although I'd be 98% inclined to simply say 'no...

Re: Brands Almost as Good As Spyderco?
Since my growing disenchantment with Spyderco's current direction and design philosophy (same body contour across the line-up, choils becoming pointier than tips, etc) I've been buying a bunch of Microtechs instead and realized, I didn't really know what 'flawless fit and finish' really means until ...

Re: Military 2 Discussion (Merged)
I have also developed a heavy dislike towards Spyderco's decision to include the 'pointy choil' on almost everything, I have this vivid picture in my head, with the Spyderco 'choil committee" :winking-tongue perusing the catalog item by item and going like: https://i.imgur.com/sZlyZ0am.png It's...

Re: What percentage of your knives are spyderco?
Used to be 90%, dropped to 60-ish % ever since they decided to use the same stupid choil on everything. Last Spyderco bought was the Watu, the only one I expect to buy this year is the Ayoob.

Re: Any news on more Kapara goodness?
Ahh, yes, the Kapara. One of the (very) few Spydercos I still carry and enjoy as it predates 'the great para-fication of choils of 2020/21 and ongoing'. I'm also solidly in the 'grippy enough' camp. Pictured below one of my favorite carry combos.

Re: Military 2; Knife of the Year
Well, what can I say, it's a free world, I guess everybody will be voting with their wallets. Personally I'm not interested, have Millies to last me several lifetimes so not planning to lose any sleep over this

Some pics of the edge under 10x and 20x magnification. https://i.ibb.co/Gv1C2nT/20220520-190058.jpg Nice work, now you only need do something about that tip ;) While I always keep a couple knives in my collection with a polished apex, it's tough going back to them. I don't enjoy the way they cut as...

Re: Does anyone use a S90V blade?
I've been rotating my S90V knives on and off, and at some point I did use extensively (1+ years as sole EDC) my CTS-20CP Para 2. With light (every other week) touchups it felt like they could go on forever (for my uses).
