Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
Why did I read this thread? I am now sold on the idea that my next knife (Spyderco obviously) will be in SE configuration. Now, it is the model that is gonna be important... Endela, Para 3 LW, another of my beloved Native 5s in a new steel, or something else entirely? I would even be more enclined ...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
Guess it all depends on what you're using it for. I found the Salt 2 wharncliffe LC200N worked quite well for me, right out of the box, but I use it mostly for breaking down boxes and cutting up milk cartons (so they don't take up room in the trash). The Salt 2 SE is really good (I own the "re...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
I recently bought a Salt 2 Wharncliffe in LC200n and I have to say that I was a bit disappointed at first. Coming from the Endela SE which had shallow serrations to the Salt which is way pointier ones was not satisfying. I have now sharpened down the tips which took quite a while with the regular d...

Re: Backpacking knife ?
Whats your thoughts on either the new (green) Salt 2 or Native 5 salt as a lightweight backpacking blade. Cheers First of, the Native has been my favourite knife for years but I've been carrying the Salt non stop for a month and enjoying it tremendously. My choice would come down to how much I woul...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
Everyone here would own a pm2 tanto with dlc blade and Jade scales at $199 if they could Why would you make that assumption? I have no interest in owning a tanto PM2 Question...did you actually try to buy one of these exclusives when they dropped? Sounds to me like you're just ticked because you di...

Re: Touching up a serrated edge on the go?
I got to thinking of what methods one could use because this weekend I found myself at my in-laws house breaking down a lot of boxes (I'm usually put to work) which dulled my knife quite a bit and I forgot my usual pocket sharpeners at home.

Re: Touching up a serrated edge on the go?
What I've used is a DC4 and a DMT folding double sharpener. I haven't thought about the victorinox one, that's interesting! I sharpen freehand, edge towards me and switching hands depending in what side I sharpen. How do you guys do it? What technique do you use? If i ever need new stones for the sh...

Touching up a serrated edge on the go?
Now and then I need to touch up an edge during the day. A plain edge is usually taken care if with something like a spyderco double stuff and my question is what you guys use for serrated edges? I still haven't found a method I'm totally satisfied with.

Re: Can we talk about the Yo2's tip problem?
Unfortunately I can't find the exact place in this video where he says it (sleeping kids, no headphones), but Michael Janich says something along the lines of that he asked the Spyderco warranty office whether they saw a lot of Yojimbos broken and they didn't. Great video by the way. "Evolution...

Re: Could you EDC only a Ladybug or Manbug?
As far as everyday life goes, I'm pretty sure I could get by with only a Ladybug. The edge is almost as long as a DF2 which I've carried on many days as the only knife. The wharncliffe one is great! I solved the problem with grip by tying a lanyard with two snake knots and a larger diamond knot, giv...

Re: FRN/Lightweights: I just can’t get into them
I love aesthetics of titanium, brass, and micarta but even though I have those kinds of folders, my most carried knives are an orange Native, black Endela, and green Salt Wharncliffe. What the hand and pockets likes is slightly different from what the eyes like.
