I had the great privilege of meeting Sal and Gail in Sydney when they were here a couple of years ago. Sal asked then about the possibility of a mini show here but at the time I didn't think there were enough members to make it worthwhile. However, if there are sufficient responses to this thread fo...

Centofante 4

The Centofante 4 is my regular EDC these days. The blade is long enough for most tasks and thin enough for cutting up an apple or use in the kitchen. However, its most important asset is the Wharncliffe blade which allows the cutting edge to remain in contact right up to the tip. The other day I was...

Why?

My little bloke is nearly six now. His most treasured possession is an engraved, stainless Dragonfly which the :spyder: crew so generously sent him when he was born. I mind it for him but every so often he asks to look at it and soon I will let him start using it. He learnt his middle name from the ...

Centofante IV

I don't own a Frank Centofante 4, but from a passaround from another forums I had some own experience and if I can trust my record you could give the Centofante a try. The 2mm Wharncliff blade worked fine in my kitchen. Absolutely. I only use mine in the kitchen when I'm on holiday but it is excell...

Not drowning, waving

Well the thread may have died but I'm still around :) . Seems like the virus is also, judging by the amount of recent interest in the blue Chinese Folder. The black ZDP version should bring a lot more people into the "club." Blades, we'll have to get those T-shirts organised :D . cheers, c...

UPS is soooo slow

Now, firstly: the date of arrival was supposed to be 03/11/06. Then, three days ago, it got moved to the 6th. At this stage, I was wondering what was happening. Will, That's why I don't have my knives sent by UPS. I only ever had one knife sent by them and it took so long I thought it had been lost...

Two Thumbs Up

Another design created by the afi's. Thanx much for your sharing of what you'd like and we hope the end result works for all. Sal, You're way too modest. The Caly 3 is the final reincarnation of the Calypso series and as such is a testament to your designing skills. Mine arrived yesterday and I hav...

Kevin Wilkins rules

Jens is a pleasure to work with, as is Kevin Wilkiins. I particularly like Kevin's Ryback Folding Kitchen Knife , so much that I'd even be willing to sell a child to get one :) . He has said that he even has production CAD drawings ready to go. How about it Sal, I'm sure you want to make an old man...

Kristi, you are in my thoughts. I feel for you deeply. I sat by my mother's bed while she died just a couple of months ago and I would not wish the experience on any one. Be strong.

Thumbs Up

I've been keeeping my Spydies in Sack-Ups knife rolls for years, and can thoroughly recommend them. Just be careful which one you buy, the slots in the 6 and 12 rolls are too small for most Spydies but are just right for traditional slip-joints. However, there is a 9 knife roll that has wider slots ...

My "suit knife" is a CF Dragonfly. It's the only time I ever carry it but the CF matches the colour of my suit perfectly.

G'day Patti,

I usually only lurk here these days but I had to reply to this thread. Wonderful to hear from you and that all is going well. Ferret posted here recently also so there's another name from the past. Must be nearly time for you to have a holiday in Oz :-).

I recall making a real nuisance of myself to get a Wharncliffe Centofante. Probably didn't make any difference but I'll still take some of the credit :D . It's a **** fine knife anyway.

Please don't mention '74 again. We also have bad memories of that year. It was the last time Australia made the final and we didn't score a goal. At least we did better this time :) . I agree. France-Germany for the final and, despite my German heritage, I'm going for France. It would be a wonderful...
