Nice! Who made those scales? Anodized aluminum? :cool: :spyder:
Anodised alu by Kevin Wilkins. To my knowledge he has stopped making scales unfortunately.

Re: Just put my last Spyderco in a Zipper bag ...

Frenchblob, Whilst Sal has said that the washers have been posted, I’d suggest sourcing local washers anyway. The postal system is broken (unless sent by courier company) thanks to the virus. As examples, I still haven’t got my Spyderco 2021 calendar and I’ve been waiting for an item from Hong Kong ...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Today I have a special one in my pocket - 12 years old but still looks like she only left Japan yesterday. She is also not known for respecting the cohesive properties between materials.... I've been drawn to these for a while. I will cave soon I think. But I'd love to see this as an updated design...

Re: The Return of the Persian

Firstly the thread needs a photo of a G10 Persian 2 - my 76mm https://i.postimg.cc/NGkH8CjM/IMG_3322.jpg This is a minefield. First and foremost, assuming the bolstered version is where this goes - is it pinned or screwed? Aesthetically, I prefer a pinned pivot as the original was but practically I'...

Could you post a comparison pic of your Rambler to some Spyderco? More a well known one (Delica, Para 3, PM2, Endura, Manix, whatever... )?! Apologies for the delay while travelling. Vic Rambler with Ladybug and Dragonfly as well as with a Delica and Endura https://i.postimg.cc/bN50VPyt/IMG-4352.jp...

I’m travelling at the moment. I’ll be home over the weekend and post some photos

Re: Spydercos you pair with NON Spydercos (inspired by Cambertree) - pics appreciated!

For many years a serrated Ladybug on my key ring paired with whatever plain edge "main" folder I had in my pocket for the day. These days a Vic Rambler has taken over from the Ladybug as I find I have more use for scissors and tweezers than I do for a small serrated back up blade so that currently p...

Re: Reveal 7 Live!

To me, the interesting thing about this reveal is that, save for the Mule (I think), there is nothing from Taiwan? It might be because there is nothing really “new” here (a lot of new models tend to be made in Taiwan?) It’s almost all existing models in new flavours of steel, upsized or new blade sh...

The Meat Man got it, it’s biltong. Dried, cured beef (in this instance).

Re: Spyderco Spin

I think Paul is right. I suspect there are more fake Spins in circulation than real ones and a sprint, even though it was different to the fakes, would probably increase sales of the fakes. I doubt Spyderco would want to increase the sale of fakes.

Re: Interest in Front Flipper by Spyderco?

As a South African I’m going to throw my countrymen’s names in the ring - another Des Horn maybe or a Trevor Burger or an Andre Thorburn collaboration? Front flippers were, for quite some time, the domain of our local knife makers.

Re: 2021 New Years Knife Resolutions?

Use the knives I have or get rid of them;
No new knives with bearings;
No flippers;
No new knives that speak languages I don’t. I speak English, Afrikaans (for the local customs that I might like) and have about 500 words of Japanese so I think I might manage.

Re: Ti Pacific Salt

Whilst discontinued years ago, they might still be available somewhere if you decide you want to do it and are wanting liners. https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C10&C11KIT/290 Personally, I think these should still be available for “signature series” knives but that’s a discussion for the shi...
