Re: UKPK Drop Point vs. Leaf Shape
Personally, I find the drop point to be slightly more functional because the tip is shorter and able to to maneuver better (e.g. coring an apple), but find its form less appealing than the leaf shape. Kinda funny - was thinking the exact opposite thing today. I have been trying out my drop point in...

Re: Suggest a medium sized Spyderco FB for hiking & camping
Probably not a helpful suggestion, but the upcoming bow river will check most of your boxes. Not quite a drop point, and no batonning... but it fits everything else. I have one from Phil Wilson, and the ergonomics and ability to choke up is a bit better than the Southfork design (in my opinion) desp...

Maybe I am the odd man out, but I would love to see a Goddard. Preferably FFG, keep the micarta. Tip up would be nice as well.

Re: Hear me out: The Traveling Spyderco Knife Box!
I think it is a great idea, but the devil is in the details as usual. I arranged a passaround over at bladeforums, and one guy flaked and disappeared. I think he had some very real issues in his life, but the passaround abruptly ended nonetheless. Perhaps we limit it to 2-3 knives per box? Maybe the...

Re: "The one"
I can do "The Two" For summertime and work, UKPK in s110v. Have a few different flavors now, but this is it. Wonderful ergos, light as a feather, keeps an aggressive edge forever. For long pants weather (only a few months a year here) I really like the Para 3. Have most of the steels, but ...

Re: Mantra Bearing Race
Will the Mantra3 have the same bearing system as the Sliverax? The Sliverax works very well, and I would have no complaints about this bearing system in the Mantra3.

Re: UKPK 52100 Sprint?
Yes and yes please.
I am now up to 4 ukpks, with two more sets of custom scales on the way. I really love my Para3 in rex 45 and my sliverax, but the UKPKs can cut 99% of what I need them to do without even making me think twice. The more I use them, the more I realize I don't need a lock.

Re: Something has been bothering me...
I spend more time here than any other forum, even if I don't post much. The knives are a given - but it is the people that make this forum worthwhile. It is kind of like a family - with the occasional squabbles, misinterpreted gestures, and odd uncle Willy sitting in the corner mumbling to himself (...

Re: Serrata review
Sorry - let me clarify I was relaying the comments on the video - they are all piling on to the "inadequate" steel choice of dendritic 440c. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was voicing my opinion - I was not. I think the dendritic 440c is a different and interesting alternative to the...

Re: Serrata review
I handled it once - beautiful to hold, but too big/thick for my purposes. I read through some of the comments on the youtube video page, and everyone seems fixated on 440c. Even when cast, 440c is no longer adequate for a knife. Speaking as a reformed steel snob - I never realized how much steel imp...

Re: Anyone Interested in a Sprint Run SouthFork?
I would be in for anything. 4v sounds about right. 10v would be great too.
Hope they are ground a bit thinner - closer to the way Phil makes them. Maybe something like the sprig grind on the southfork?

Re: para 3 - lanyard tube and aftermarket replacements?
Just a bit of background too. I like blurple. I really do.
But... I also have been considering the cf/s90v version. I wanted to dry run what would happen if I sanded down the peel-ply CF scales. It is all definitely doable.

Re: para 3 - lanyard tube and aftermarket replacements?
How’d you get the stock lanyard tube back in? I chucked mine up in my drill press and used a file to take the flare out, there was no way it was going to go back in. I’d just file down your stock one, you could chuck it and use a file in the bottom, just mark off the amount you want to take off. I ...

Re: para 3 - lanyard tube and aftermarket replacements?
That sand job looks great! If that were my knife, I would try to sand down the tube you have first. Worst case, you’re buying another anyways. But best case, you got a really nice looking para3 that you didn’t have to buy another tube for Can I ask how flush the stop pin and other screws are? I wou...

Re: para 3 - lanyard tube and aftermarket replacements?
I haven't ordered any myself but I've seen other people get anodized hardware and lanyard tubes/plugs for PM2 and Para3 from Blades We Love and the lanyard plugs were specifically made smaller so they won't cause problems like the stock lanyard tubes. Doctor Frunkey recently made a video of him ins...
