Re: Sal, what about the promissed goodies in SRS13 ?
Shaun, with all these years of sharpening under your belt, are there any "mid tier" steels that stand out for whatever reason with their edge character? Like M4, Rex45, Cru Wear - do you still notice that one deburrs nicer, takes a more aggressive edge etc. Or have bonded diamonds really l...

Re: Still the best pocket knife Spyderco ever made
To me, the Urban and it's siblings came out as "comprise" designs (to fit around laws) - but the urban in particular is everything I wanted the dragonfly to be me. I don't love that it got shorted a little, but the handle is perfect for it's size and it's nice and slicey

Re: A simple decision. 15V and the future
This is one of the many problems with short runs of performance steels. They end up feeding the flippers and collectors *must* have them, so only a few actually get used. It is an utter waste of resources to design and build a performance knife only to have the majority never be used other than for...

Re: CPM SPY 27 Long Term Use
That is why railroad track is made from steel high in vanadium. What steel do they use? From the casual googling I've done, it seems to be 1084 which isn't high vanadium? https://www.fedsteel.com/insights/steels-critical-role-in-railway-tracks/ This mentions use of higher alloy steel rail in specia...

Re: It's All About The Heat Treat
I think what makes this hobby difficult is that there is so many variables when it comes to a knife and what determines its performance. Some of these factors include: 1. Blade Material 2. Blade Shape 3. Heat Treat 4. Edge Geometry 5. Factory Edge Quality 6. Sharpening Method (Freehand vs Fixed Ang...

Always loved the look and feel, but cold in the winter, a tad heavy, and slippery. But looks so cool, feels nice and rigid

Re: I may Have Gotten Scammed….
Just relax for a second. It's only been a day. Had someone freak out on me because I mailed the item using an automated postal center kiosk (I'm not waiting half an hr in line at the post office when the kiosk is right there) and the post office didn't scan it in that evening - one day later, it was...

Re: Sprint Run Super Blue Dragonfly
I actually love the steel, but in kitchen knives. I agree. I love SuperBlue, but I think the type of knife it's used in really matters... and it excels in kitchen knives. I also have the Endura and Stretch in Super Blue but never use/carry them. I'm interested in these Dragonflys, but I'm not sure ...

Yeah the blade play is annoying (just a pin that goes through the notches in the blade), but for $9 I'll live with it. The secondary lock is the same as the old LAWKS system that CRKT used to use

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...
https://coastportland.com/products/dx126 I generally don't love coast products, but this is like a poor man's utilizer Nice textured frn handles, nice blade exposure, decently comfortable grip. I definitely like it over the Gerber I want a dedicated Spyderco cardboard knife though. Not a disposable ...
