Re: Pattern on G10 - How do they do it?

I was sitting here sipping coffee and pondering G-10, FRCP, FRN, texturing, manufacturing, et cetera. So I put my fancy new Manix 2 REX 45 with G-10 under the scope to see what it was all about. I expected to find something similar to gun stock checkering, but it wasn't the case. It appears that th...

Re: How Spyderco changed your approach to knives

Spyderco taught me that too much is never enough. ;) Now if we could somehow convince our S.O.s of that too... :D My wife doesn't know how much some of my knives cost, and doesn't really care it seems. She just says to anyone who asks that I have a big case full of knives. Lol as long as bills are ...

Re: LC200N / Caribbean SE torture test gauntlet of death

Let me know when your pivot fails. If it ever does, I wanna see the aftermath! :p It would take something really stupid like maybe batoning a coconut or excessive prying. Some of these tests are about the hardest I've used any knife ever and aside from some scratches and sharpening this knife is ba...

Re: LC200N / Caribbean SE torture test gauntlet of death

I've not experienced any blade play with a compression lock aside from the Ti A.T.R, but I've got that figured out(just gotta take the time to send it off). Not that I dislike backlocks, they are in my top two. However, they have more "play" than any compression lock I've ever seen. The lo...

Re: LC200N / Caribbean SE torture test gauntlet of death

evild, have you done any testing with the modded sheepsfoot you posted a while back? It gets used daily but I've stuck with the same knife (leaf blade) for all these tests just to see how it handles extended hard use. This is as much a test of the Caribbean model as it is of the steel and edge type...

Re: Pink Knives

Thank you for the input everyone. My question to you now is, can you dye a yellow salt pink? Like JohnAPA suggested? You can dye yellow FRN pretty much any color. It will wear off over time, but it's an easy thing to repeat on a Salt knife. Also, I cannot reccomend LC200N enough. It is a stupidly, ...

Reprofiled by hand using a Diamond Triangle, then added a 15° microbevel. She ain't pretty, but she sure is sharp.

First attempt at a reprofile.
