Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?
Unfortunately, that's true of many retailers. I got lucky that I stumbled on it being in stock a couple mins before they sent out the email, and I checked out with paypal to speed things along.

Re: M4 Shaman Exclusive
Does anyone know if BladeHQ ever does second runs of their exclusives (aside from the coated versions)? I'm not in love with the jade G10, but do love me some M4.

Re: Shaman Sprint ?????
Yeah, I think Cruwear fits the Shaman perfectly. I'll gladly take any kind of sprint though, or even one of the evergreen steel upgrades (i.e., S110V).

Re: Forum Maintenance & Move
Hi Kristi, Do you know what will happen to bookmarks of individual threads? Will the old link forward to the thread on the new server, or will there be an easy conversion (I.e., would this thread become something like forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=82721)? Thanks for everything you do to...

Re: Hard truths and observations
One thing to add to Vivi's and others' observations is heat treat. With these value-focused companies (which are often but not exclusively Chinese) not only do you not know for sure what steel you're getting, you also have no idea whether the steel is properly heat treated, which is perhaps even mo...

Re: New reveal policy: is it the end of an era?
Well said. This is going to be a very significant change for the forum, possibly affecting the super fans more than anything else. However, lets see how the first reveal or two works out before we pass too much judgement. I just assumed it’s intention is to wean us off the costly printed catalogue....

Re: New reveal policy: is it the end of an era?
Hi Elduderino, I must say I agree with your observations. As you stated, often a few bad apples do ruin the barrel. It's happened more than once as I've watched over the years. Part of life I guess. We'll have to watch the process develop as we more forward. You can be sure that we still work for t...

Re: New reveal policy: is it the end of an era?
PS, I recognize that I say I don't mean to be melodramatic right after a fairly provocative title. I figured a catchy title might help spur discussion.

New reveal policy: is it the end of an era?
I truly don't mean to be melodramatic, but am I the only one who is really disappointed by what the new reveal process might mean? “To better balance the timing between the announcement and actual release of our all-new products, we will be rolling out a new product “reveal” process balancing the ex...

Re: LC200N Native 5 Salt. Still no knife. Come on! When???
I feel that Spyderco shares too much and people get spoiled with information ... Plus the weekly, what should be the next sprint must get tiring Agree. Absolutely, though I hope spyderco never stops sharing as much info with customers as they do. To OP: A little perspective is a good thing. You kno...

Re: Proposal: A Contoured Scale Series
Anyone know if he can do these scales for left hand carry? I absolutely love the design, but that's a hard requirement for me. Yes, just send him a message. He’s very responsive, just keep in mind the time zone difference. He’s also right in the middle of moving and expanding his business to a new ...

Re: Proposal: A Contoured Scale Series
Yes those are Aramis scales. The man's got his quality control zeroed in; fit and finish is perfection from one sample to the next. Plus he has a great eye for aesthetics. My PM2s are now more comfortable than some of my $500+ knives. The blue and silver colored hardware are custom titanium from an...

Any Spyderco dealers near the LV Strip?
Hey everyone, I'm heading to Las Vegas next week, and thanks to the pilots' and flight attendants' unions, I of course can't bring that murdery, weapon of mass destruction, the Urban (or Swiss army knife, etc). Checking a bag isn't really an option. However, in an attempt to make lemonade out of TSA...

Re: Source for replacement pins for Kiwi 4?
Ah so like a blind counterbored hole... Good idea, and that would allow me to just use some pin stock which can be found in many sizes. I'll give it a go. PS. The kiwi 4 is a sleek little folder. Really like the design, and it begs for some materials upgrades like bolsters and polished handles. Sor...
