My only ATS-34 model is a C71PSTI Ti Salsa with a combo-edge. I have to admit that it has lived the life of a shelf queen, although it is a very compact brute, with that locking system. I like the short, wide blade shape, and the sometimes-maligned 'cobra hood', as well. I have truly enjoyed seeing ...

I can appreciate traditional pocketknives because I appreciate history, and 'antiques', but I have memories of doing something with either a boy scout knife or SAK as a kid, and scoring the back of a couple of fingers, on a couple of occasions. Those experiences stick in my mind. I consider a lock m...

I got scared by dogs a couple of times as a kid, and as I love dogs now, I'm not quite sure how I got over it. That said, there have been a few times when I was parking in parking lots and got a little too close to dogs in the back of pickup trucks, which is when they really tend to get territorial....

Doc,
I'm glad you came through the situation okay, and I appreciate your honesty in listing your mistakes. I think that there are a lot of martial arts instructors would have too much ego to share that.

I really like the Dragonfly, and it is the only Spydie I have lost so far - from the same place where Dr. Snubnose 'lost' (and then found) his - the watch pocket of my jeans. I will replace it eventually, but haven't quite decided which version to do it with. Very useful LBK. Rolex John, thanks for ...

I appreciate the willingness of the members here to share their expertise. I don't claim to know much about knives, but most of what little I know, I learned from lurking here. The functionality built into the designs never ceases to amaze me, as well as the wide variety of models available, year af...

These days it seems to be either a yellow Salt I or waved Delica that usually gets pocket time, while other equally good models languish on the shelf. I had a dyed white FRN Dragonfly that I adored, and lost - somewhere - a while ago. The Dragonfly is the perfect 'watch pocket' knife. I have not dec...

I recall reading in a thread on CPF that they are U.S.-made. I think that the simplified production methods (sealed head, etc.) help them to keep the costs down. The demographics they are aiming for with these lights are not going to be as concerned with upgrading the led module later. It's also an ...

I find that I am drawn towards well-designed, well-made, useful tools whose physically smaller size makes them very easy to lug around. I don't edc a lot of stuff (compared to the public), but a good compact pocketknife, compact flashlight, lighter and cell phone seems to cover a awful lot of potent...

I'm novice on CPF. There are more threads to keep track of over there, so I spend more time lurking over there. These are my two favorite forums, but I'm trying to branch out more, so I recently joined the edc forums (as well as being on USN). I really can't justify more purchases, but that's not a ...

Great SureFire deals @ LAPoliceGear.com

Since SureFire is introducing a new, more economical line of flashlights - they are phasing out a lot of their models using the separate P60L led module. The P60 module may not be super-bright, but they still work fine, and allow you the option of taking it out and upgrading with a different module ...
