Re: Manix 2 g10

Hey Mastiff after purchasing the grey Cruwear variant, Manix2 started to grow in me.It has skeletonized liners so it's lighter. How do you like the Cruwear steel? There is currently one of those in my local shop and it looks intriguing. Does the grey/cream G10 get dirty easily? I was never a fan of...

Re: am I going to regret not getting a Lava sprint?

Of course you'll regret not getting it, if you have to ask-you'll regret it. The question should be will I regret it if I do buy one. The answer to that is no you won't regret it. You may not find it as useful as some other knives but it is certainly a great little knife. If you are like me you will...

What makes it lightweight? Weight and dimensions almost identical to the old one, just different materials. I'm not complaining about the knife, just wondering why it's called lightweight..,

Re: Manix 2 g10

I've got the cru-wear version, great knife. The lock took 3 days of playing to "break in", but the bigger part of it imo is YOU get used to the lock. Don't worry about it, your fingers will take a beating for a few days but it's worth it. Pick up some "O'Keeffe's Working Hands" a...

Re: CruWear vs D2

My ZDP189 dragonfly has slightly rolled edges that I haven't gotten around to fixing but from what I've heard it should be great about not rolling? Factory edge mind you... ZDP-189 should have high resistance to rolling given the very high hardness and high carbide volume. However the initial edges...

Re: Does the Delica blade look like a " bird head " ? Prefer more of the leaf design. Dragonfly?

If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you like it, buy it. Odd question. Well, it's kind of hard when all one has to go on is a photograph and/or video. It would be a different story if I could actually handle and thereby compare them. Who's the oddball now , Jazz ? :p I just thought if you didn't...

Re: CruWear vs D2

Yup, everything been sharpened a couple of times, and touched up too. Manix2 Cruwear the most but it has seen the most use. It's been at different angles and never chipped bad, (too be honest I can't remember what angle it was at when it took the damage) just enough to snag a bit cutting thin or sof...

Techno first place hands down, Gayle Bradley and Farid K2 tied for second place. Seems like anything out of Taiwan is an winner.

In regards to chip resistance?
Yes, the others have sustained minor chipping from things like staples, the worst being on the 110v.

Re: CruWear vs D2

I'm no where near an expert but I'd say they are pretty comparable overall. That is about what I would expect from the materials data which shows that the difference between them is comparable to the difference each has depending on how it is hardened. CTS-XHP has the unique note of one of the few ...

Re: CruWear vs D2

There have been many posts here on CruWear and it is an interesting steel having been used a long time under many different names all the way back to VascoWear. In some ways it is easy to find data on it such as this : http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/CliffStamp/steel%20info/cruwear%20vs%20D2_...

So What is your 1. "Grail" that you will likely never buy, or never carry and use if you do buy, (I use all mine so for me it's never buy but love anyway) 2. Knife you use all the time or plan to buy for such purpose, (Good balance of price, quality, usability. Not necessarily the cheapo t...

Re: What Spydeco is in your pocket today??

Native 5 cf 110v. Put this one away for a while after I got it. The blade wasn't ground quite right but I got a great price and since my knives are all users, I fixed it up and was good to go, or so I thought... The edges of the cf were sharp and uncomfortable as were all the edges on the liners, s...

Re: Have Persistance value folder looking to step up?

Native 5 for similar sized step up. If you think you might like a little smaller but beefier look at the Techno. The Manix 2 is a great knife with amazing action but it is really a lot more knife. I don't own one but have heard nothing but great things about the Sage series. Caly 3?
