Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

^ Reminds me of interactions I've had with homeless/vagrants. They've always been more respectful than "regular" people. Of course, they always want something ... but then again, so does everyone, including the idiot I mentioned in my opening post.

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

There's no right-of-way area where he could have put the signs? I wouldn't have a choice about the placing of the signs due to the easement/right-of-way being there next to the street.

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

I've always thought that good people made good neighbors. I do get the point. A fence is not an option at this point because construction is ongoing. And I can't enclose my whole property in a fence--it can only go as far forward as the mid-point of my house. Yesterday I looked out my window and saw...

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

You know where she lives, pop over, take a walk around her garden, see what she has to say? Hah, I LOVE this idea! I don't know which house is hers... I only see he trolling the neighborhood like a stray cat. But if I could find where she lived... That would be hilarious... Walk around her yard, th...

Meh. The models I don't care for get sprinted to death. My favorites--never, or hardly at all.

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

AAAAH! You guys are really making me kick myself for not leaning into her. I HATE that chagrin feeling!

All I can do is hope I see her again. And maybe sit on my doorstep for a few hours a day to better my odds. :)

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

Oh, we dotted our I's and crossed our T's. She can't do squat. And we're one of the most quiet and respectful houses in the neighborhood. I'm not a big fan of noise or excitement for that matter, so that won't be an issue. And the idiot president of our HOA dumped lots of sand on my property, and da...

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

Is she old? Lived there a long time? In my experiences that are similar it is someone who thinks they are entitled to snoop based on living there a long time. I have a few now that miss NOTHING in the neighborhood. I would go over and say "sorry if I was short with you, I don't usually tolerat...

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

^ Good point. I think they were supposed to put up a temporary construction fence, but they didn't. I would hope that an adult who should have known better would have no standing to win a lawsuit under these circumstances (read: it's your own stupid fault), but I do remember this is the USA, where p...

Re: Sanity check on unwanted visitors

Thanks for the relies. I can handle myself. If anything, I tend to go overboard with my responses, and I am an ... uh ... passionate person, so I often have strong feelings about things. My downfall is when people surprise me (as was the case here), I am often slow to react. Just wanted to know if m...

Sanity check on unwanted visitors

Just a random "Should this bother me?" question. My wife and I are having a pool put in. It's to be an in-ground pool, in the back yard of course. I normally work from home but today I had to go out to get something. When I returned, a neighbor was on my property, walking from the back yar...

Re: Getting moly out of G10

I'm pretty much to a point where I will stop buying knives sporting G10 at all. There wasn't much I liked about it to begin with, and now there's one more item on the list of things I don't like about it. Ah, who am I kidding? Too many knives come in only G10 for me to abstain from it. :( But again,...

Re: Getting moly out of G10

The rubbing alcohol issue was on a Tenacious. I'm not sure if the G10 on a Tenacious is different in a way that would make this an issue. But a long time ago, I put alcohol on a paper towel, rubbed the G10 on a Tenacious, and the towel turned black. The stained G10 I have is on a couple PM2s and a K...

Reminds me of the unscrupulous sellers on Amazon who use the phrase "titanium steel" or "titanium stainless steel" on the jewelry they sell.

Getting moly out of G10

I decided to try out molybdenum disulfide as a lube. The first thing I noticed was that it had an almost supernatural ability to get all over the place. Despite my best efforts, it's stained the G10 scales of several of my knives. Even on black G10, it leaves a noticeable stain. I've tried soap and ...

Re: Manix 2 g10

I've had a bunch of Manix2 and Manix XL variants. Never had a single one that had a lock that changed from the moment I first handled it. Maybe it's pure chance. I just put some of Allen Putnam's toxic green scales on my Manix2, and cut a couple coils off the spring to lighten it up. I'm still not a...

Re: Is WD-40 bad for phosphor bronze bushings?

Well, technically anything can be called a "lubricant". I don't know about anyone else here, but I've slipped on wet floors, because water is a lubricant. I wouldn't want to use it on my knives, though. I'd never use WD-40 to lubricate anything. It works poorly as a lube and smells even wo...
