Tanrichguy, sorry to hear about your experience. I say definitely go after him and try to get your money back. Have you looked at ebay's buyers protection info? Link here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/protection-programs.html I never had to use it, but if the item is clearly not in the condition t...

First off...Welcome to the Forum dayliu :) I clean my knives with warm water, and soap; To dry them thoroughly(I never use kitchen/steak knives), and to dry them, I use my wifes' hair dryer, or drive to work, where I have access to compressed air. As far as oil/lubes...I have good experience with w...

I found this youtube video showing how to assemble a FRN E4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQqUFxe5leA - he uses the exact same method as yours, npueppke!
Also, the link to Mr. Blonde's article is broken. Does anyone have an updated link?

I never handled a D'Fly, FRN or G10. But here is my thoughts: for smaller knives of this size, color FRN may be better handle material (color because they look better than black :D ). The grippiness of G10 is not as important here because handle design is more of a factor of how secure a small knife...

Some people just want a trainer to practice solo with. No striking or sparing, but simply to practice draw and deployment. If this is you, you can make your own trainer from a live blade with some tape masking the hazardous parts. It is not totally safe, but reduces the minor cuts that sometimes ha...

A trainer for every knife!
So, I was checking out the price of E4 trainers and receiving the sticker shock - they are basically at the same price of a real Endura 4! I guess it makes sense because the trainer needs to maintain the same weight/construction/mechanics of the real knife. However, unless I want to limit myself to ...

Good stuff. Hope this would lead to some positive change. I wish people in this country would rediscover the American spirit and drop some of these PC nonsense. One of the reasons I got into folding knives is that I wanted some means of self-protection on my person but could not carry a gun (living ...

I keep a cheap Cold Steel Roach Belly in the kitchen, and use it to cut vegetables, fruits, etc. One time I noticed some discoloring marks on the blade that I could not wipe them off using a dish washing sponge. I then tried my trusty rubbing alcohol and the marks came right off. Just something for ...

I think the most important thing to note from my pictures is that the only rust was present where water was trapped between the liners and the FRN handles. None was noted on the pivot area. I think the was a combination of a few factors. The pivot had some protection from the lubricating oil I used...

Wow. Thanks all for your input! I think I know how to wash my knives now :) I usually wash mine with dish soap and hot water.I let the water get as hot as i can stand and wash the blade and sometimes the pivot area.I shake the excess water off, wipe with a towel, and then let air dry.I then oil the ...
