Re: TSA confiscated knives- good deal or not?

I will not say the TSA is guilty of anything but upholding the current law. However, there was an investigative report many years back about "lost" luggage. The so-called "lost" luggage ends up being sold to stores that sell everything cheaply. Most of the time the luggage was c...

Re: TSA confiscated knives- good deal or not?

Nothing new. They've been doing it for years. I refuse to buy due to the fact that these items are little more than stolen property being fenced by the TSA. Sugar-coat it as you wish. When you break it down, that is exactly what it is.

Haven't had those. But will try them.

BTW, stay away from Campbell's beef stew in their large cans. Nothing more than a can of instant diahrrea.

Re: Being politically correct

Literally on New Year's Eve, I had a young white police officer try to give me a lecture on what words I should use while out in public. Won't get into the details of what led up to it. (Too long a story and unnecessary.) Here's the thing, I immediately recognized that he wasn't speaking to me in an...

Re: Canned Foods/Meals: Your views?

I seriously doubt if the canned Chef Boyardee is the same slop he used to sell in his restaurant. Still, if you're hungry and don't have time to cook; a can or two makes for a better-than-decent meal. As for Dinty Moore.... Their beef stew is excellent. Even the microwave version. Small, but excelle...

Okay, so you believe expert repair specialists are common as average mechanics? Yup, we definitely disagree.

Re: Car/Automobile Servicability: Why so difficult?

The average new car has more computerized gizmos than all of NASA back in the 1970s. Something like that is simply going to require a specialist to work on it. Shade Tree mechanics are mostly extinct. Want something you can work on yourself. Get a very old Dodge Power wagon or a very old Ford Bronco...

Re: How good the pc for gaming?

Honestly, for first-person shooters, a keyboard and mouse completely dominates every single gaming controllers out there. For other games, you need to buy a separate controller. If a new game comes out, you have to check to see if your computer can handle it, or you have to upgrade your graphics car...

I like CRKT's old serrations. Their newer ones looked wicked. And tend to be fragile.

It's good to hear that she's improving. With surgery, nothing is immediate as far as positive results. Even minor surgery often takes several months for the benefits to really show themselves. Slow, often very slow, but steady improvement is the best that happens. Thank you for the update. It's good...

Saw a review of a sneak peek of the film. Apparently, everything of significance is rehashed from the first 3 films. (And I don't mean the prequels.)

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Back to basics today - Centofante 3. I really enjoy this knife and even with close on 100 Spydercos, this one remains one of my favorites - useful blade length, thin hollow grind, edge starts that starts close to finger guard, VG10, full grip on the handle with no funny bumps to force my fingers in...

I have their Gen. 1 M20 Warrior model. Hottest thing out there when it was introduced. Overall, a solid company that makes very good lights. Their S1 has been an even biggest hit than their M20.
