Re: PLease Disregard my Recent Thread about Summertime on Long Island in December
Yeah, I think it finally stopped. I work nights.... Guess who missed the announcement that all the roads were closed except to Emergency vehicles and police cars at 2pm. :( I didn't even get out of my driveway. Thankfully, I live in a co-op. It took the building super and four other maintenance work...

Re: Why dont companies round off prices???
it's an ancient marketing technique. oftentimes people will see 9.99 and think 9 instead of 10, whereas I would still consider it pretty much 10. This has been proven to work through lord knows how many marketing and advertising studies, so it obviously works well on some folks. Yup, idiotic market...
Re: Emerson?
I have never owned an Emerson as they are so expensive over here in Europe but I recently saw an interview with Ernie (I think from knife news), where he stated that Emerson were going to try and get into the semi custom market i.e. steel and handle upgrades and they were going to release some new ...
Re: Emerson?
I love Emerson knives, but very grudgingly. Honestly, take a good, long look at the current Zero Tolerance offerings of Emerson's designs. (0620, 0630). Emerson's design genius but with ZT build-quality. And you want ZT build-quality because since day one when Emerson created his Production company,...

Re: Anti politically correct video
It was kinda funny, but then it took on an Orwellianesque dystopic feel, minus the surveillance aspect. It's scary that what we got was an honest look into the future.

Re: Canned Foods/Meals: Your views?
Well here is a question about this. Say a small company or group of people made an all-natural home-made spaghetti and used all organic, healthy, from scratch ingredients, even making the pasta right from flour and other spices and everything...and canned it in glass jars, and made sure the product...

Re: Being politically correct
Ah.... There we are. Now I'm done. And a certain forum member owes me a certain Spyderco in his collection. Honestly, he genuinely believed in you. Truth be told, I was secretly hoping I'd lose. I'm a Realist with Optimistic hopes and tendencies. The bet was made just a few hours ago. When it became...

Which ones? The ones you ignored? The ones that your beliefs wouldn't let you deal with? The ones that your beliefs said, "Make a post attacking his character since you can't find any good counter arguments to dispute his main points?" (Common debating tactic. Sadly, doesn't work if the ot...

Re: Update with pics:Costly Amazon Mistake for PM2?
I wouldn't buy any pricey knives from Amazon. Bought a CRKT M16-13SF very recently. Came from a 3rd party online shop. Considering the packaging and the level of quality, it mirrored my CRKT M16-10KZ (a lesser version of the 13SF) in terms of both quality and overall construction. Basically quite go...

I like their bigger offerings. Though I don't think their Bowie knife offering is available anymore.

Re: TSA confiscated knives- good deal or not?
Lump me in with Tom and Monocrom....theft is theft, whether .gov sanctioned or not. I lump TSA "stolen" knives in with clones/copies/forgeries/etc..etc.. Theft of property is theft, be it tangible or intellectual..period. Dealing in them in my eyes is no different than you trying to sell ...

Re: Being politically correct
the idealism comes in where I foolishly believe that humans could realize that other humans are "us" not "the other" if they actually got to know them, rather than blindly accepting the dogma that the talking head of their choice spews. the reason I used the term "force&quo...

Re: Being politically correct
Point being, you don't need a re-education camp in the form of the mass-media and programs in elementary schools designed to work over the course of generations instead of a few weeks; in order to teach actual tolerance or even acceptance of minority groups. how do we as a society shift away from b...

Re: Being politically correct
It's now shocking to watch some TV sitcoms from the 1970's - a time when racism and homophobia was not only mainstream but apparently amusing. Political correctness has helped remove or reduce a lot of casual cruelty. At far too high a price. The very name of the P.C. movement tells you their disgu...

PS: When I made this thread, I was asking if buying TSA knives was a good deal, not if the TSA was being fair. whatever Hey, you know what?...... Excellent point! One, it would depend on the item in question as you're going to see mostly cheap pocket-knives and other such cheap items sol...
