Re: What the ****? A Back Lock Manix?

I was thrilled to see a Manix in back lock format. As soon as I learned that it is made with the same techniques as the back lock on the Native 5, I put an order in. I have been looking for a hard use 3.5" class folder for a while and while I've tried to like the Manix CBBL, i could just never ...

Re: Manix2 Backlock!

That sealed it for me. Inbound! I too hope that they are manufacturing this lock with the same tight tolerances as the Native5. I don't know if that has been confirmed or not. Hey Killer, Yes, it's the same. Now that we've got it down, and it works well, no sense in changing. Haven't found any glitc...

Yes for me. Maybe I'll get one this time around! I missed the originals and somehow also the sprint. third time is the charm.

Re: Manix2 Backlock!

Forgive me if I missed it, but are these made with the same process (EDM?) and/or of the same quality as the Native 5 as far as lock fit and function? Spyderco has always made a good back lock, but the Native 5 is the benchmark in the industry as far as I'm concerned. I assume another Golden made ba...

Re: How do you use the Ultra Fine?

I use mine dry and only use it to sharpen a microbevel. I do not use it to sharpen an entire edge bevel or to create a microbevel. I'm happy with how it performs this way. I use the bench stone not the rods. Typical sharpening process for a new Spyderco: Grind off the factory bevel with a DMT XX co...

Re: Anyone else excited for the new police model

It all depends on how thin the edge is. I hate a thick behind the edge knife. If it's as thin as a Millie, I'm in.

I never thought of it before. Too bad the 701 profile stones are out of production.

Re: Mantra Owners: Two Questions

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has thought of grinding off the flipper. It just seems out of place on the mantra, and the blade has so little mass that it doesn't flip so well anyways. Great knife otherwise.

I'd like to see more Caly 3.5 sprints. Maybe a Hap40 version like the Caly 3?

Re: Official Petition for a Premium Tenacious

I was thinking today, that I actually want a cheaper Tenacious. I want the same blade with the most inexpensive handle material. I don't know what that is, FRN, aluminum?

Target price - $29 IRL

Best Value in a Spyderco

What's everyone's opinion of the best value in a Spyderco product, all things considered? (Past or present) The Tenacious is a great value, no doubt, but IMO not write-home-to-mom better or different than other knives at that price point. The Para2 packs a lot of performance and innovation into its ...

Re: Combo Edges: Like or Hate?

And "Scottie" I can certainly understand why you feel that way. But do consider that someone who works with a lot of rope and/or cordage can find combo edges rather handy at times. It really seems like that very few hard core knife user like the guys and gals you see here and at other kni...

Re: Official Petition for a Premium Tenacious

It wouldn't do anything for me. To me the draw to the Tenacious is a pretty good knife for a cheap price to use in times where your great but expensive knife would probably get damaged. There are lots of other models that fill the same role that re already more premium IMO.
