It is my understanding the DMT's require some break in time so that might be part of the reason for not getting your blade sharp. Just a thought! :)

Maybe I was fortunate but any Dell I have owned and I have had quite a few, I never had any problems with them! I guess I should knock on wood! LOL

That is a tough choice but for me I would either go with the Super Tinker or the Explorer. The Explorer to me has the most useful tool setup and at 4 layers it is about as thick as I would want to carry in my pocket. I use a P-7 clip, which works very well.

If thin is okay with ceramics, then maybe we should try to get a Doublestuff 302 size sharpener stone. Two sided 8x2, about 1/8 inch thick glued together and put in a pouch. :)

What I really enjoy are the 702 Profile Stones in medium and fine. With half the length of the 701 Profile Stones they are better portable in the field and allow all-purpose use.
