I am torn. I really like the look of the Manix 2 lightweight (especially now that it has a screwed pivot), but I also like the Stretch. Which would you choose? I am a little worried that the Manix will be a tad too big for my pocket! http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?59053-Stretch-Light...

I've had the seat-belt say "wait-a-minute" and pull a few knives out of my right front pocket over the years. Check that, if you haven't already. It's no fun losing one you value. :(

I think I like the Stretch better if I had to choose. I have owned and used both. .. Great ergos on both. The locks are very different when it comes to use but both are easy and very reliable. For EDC I think the Stretch fits my needs better. .. .. Ditto. I re-homed the M2LW because it just didn't ...

. Let me walk you through the reasoning. To begin with, we have to ask, what is the purpose of the small knife? The answer, at least for me, is to be my "public knife," which is a knife I can use for small chores in public without anyone raising an eyebrow. The Dragonfly is a much larger ...

The Assist has a giant presence in the hand, relative to most other Spydies. I think the Deacon as posted pics here about the thickness of the handle. I'm certain it was desinged around use with gloved hands. That's also where that hood helps in deployment of the blade.

What are YOUR EDC needs? Are you outdoorsy at all? Hunter, fisher, camper? The M2LW feels like a big strong knife, though lighter than it's brethern. The Delica is still going to get a tremendous amount done, despite the smaller size, and edge. As was mentioned...that Manix wide blade can be a detri...

I just saw and handled both today. The Nilakka was darker. The Southard is thinner, with flat scales, but still hand-filling. I found that the corner by the lanyard on the Nilakka really dug into my palm. The Southard was far more comfortable.

I've had FRN Enduras in saber and Waved. Now having the Stretch, I couldn't consider another Endura, FFG or not. The Stretch FRN just feels so much better in the hand, and is more compact. You give up what, like 1/8" of edge? Plus, I like the better safety (perception only?) of one-hand closing...

Anyone have the '13 UKPK ?

I'm really curious as to your impression of the backspring strength. In reading here, it appears to have been strengthened? Any ELU comparos to verify this? Pics are certainly appreciated, also. :)

There's been some heinous attacks in Christian churces, synagogues and even the Sikh Gurdwara most recently in Wisconsin.

My 1st Hawkbill

I visited a local dealer yesterday, the only one that stocks more than a handful of anyone's knives. I felt compelled to buy something just for the ability to gawk at and fondle so many products. The Hawkbill jumped right out at me, immediately. I know the Byrd value from my C2FRN, and I figured tha...

Sprints never into general production?

How many models have there been that have never made it into the regular model year line-up? I've extremely fond of the C67 R, but I wish for something not so slick for the scale material. I think if I could get a Gen. 2, it would be great, with the skeleton handle. However, I see they are hen's tee...

I feel there's another great advantage to the clip, at least in tip-up carry. That is, it helps keep the lint and crud from lodging where it can interfere w/locking-up. I went to open my my CalyJr.(free-floating in my pocket) the other day, and didn't hear, nor feel the 'click'. You guessed it, a bi...

If the poly cage around the bearing cracks or splits, does this cause the spring to go 'sproing', and lock-failure....or does it simply become sloppy? Either way, I know a trip to the Mother Ship would be needed. Well as to question two, I found this one while surfing here earlier. http://www.spyde...
