Willey Knives customer service success
As some of you might remember, I had plans to add Spyderco style serrations to my BHQ M4 Yojimbo 2. Willey Knives is a shop that has the capacity to add them, so after calling to discuss the job I sent my knife in per their instructions. A few days later, I called to check ...

Re: Getting serrations cut into a plain edge knife?
I have had it done by Willey Knives. They did a good job and it came extremely sharp. The one thing that someone needs to know about adding serrations is that they probably will not be chisel ground. There will be a bevel on the back ...

Re: Getting serrations cut into a plain edge knife?
The only option I know of if you want Spyderco pattern serrations is Willey Knives. The knives I've seen them do looked factory done, at least on the presentation side. The back will always look a little odd because of the V bevel grind being on both sides, ...

Re: Serrations other than presentation side
I bet there are different stones used for different blade shapes. That could be why we don't see serrated recurves. When I talked to Willey Knives about grinding my Ulize, they told me they couldn't do a recurve in the traditional Spyderco pattern, but they could do a single sized serration ...

Re: Serrations other than presentation side
... searching for someone who can add the spyderedge to a pm2 and Wiley Knives is what I keep seeing. However, googling “Wiley Knives” only gives me “Willey Knives” out of Delaware. Is this the correct place? Thanks! Yep that's the place. http://www.willeyknives.com Thank you!

That one place... and I forget who it is now, but they will full serrate a Military for you. Willey Knives did my CruWear Manix a while back. http://www.willeyknives.com/sharpening.html It's not listed on their web site, but I know several other people who've had them ...

Re: Combining a Tusk and an Atlantic
Welcome Hawg, +1 to everything Deacon said, but if you decide to look into modifying the existing blade, iirc Willey Knives may also be able to add serrations very similar to the Spyderco pattern. Wouldn't hurt to call and ask. Another option may be to have a custom maker produce ...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives
Thanks for the review... I can now see why SE is done with a chisel grind, it looks quite strange with a double bevel, and I suppose the teeth will wear away much faster. Why would you think that? Chisel grind cuts your edge angle in half. Having a 40 degree edge angle instead of 20 degree should m...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives
They told me that they have two grinding wheels. One can do 1 3/4 inches of serrations and the other one can do 4 inches of serrations. I was gonna have a Cruwear Military done but it doesn't have 4 inches of cutting edge and I didn't want a combo edge Cruwear Military. I don't see why these would w...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives
Looks pretty good. I wonder if they would do 3/4 of the blade instead of half. The best part is it looks like they would be compatible with the sharpmaker too. From my communication with them in the past year, options are very limited because their grinding wheels are for a specific number of teeth...

Re: Combo edged Para2 by Willey Knives
Thank you for the information, Darby. I admired your SE PM2 the first time you posted pics of it a few days ago. Very cool service and very reasonably priced. I can see sending a number of my own knives in for a little tooth work. :D
