This might not hold true for every Salt, as I've only owned an older Pacific and Atlantic. Anyway, the jimping on the thumb ramp of the older Salt models was really course. To learn/find out about these knives you basically need to visit all the major and in some cases non major knife shops...

I never could like the Military. I've had the SE S30V and the S90V versions. I just don't like the blade shape, it never suited my tastes. The S30V was given away and the S90V was ebayed. I don't miss them, it just wasn't a good fit.
