Re: S30V -> S35VN & BD1 -> BD1N

Not to derail, but I would rather see LC200N replace S30V. It seems to hold an edge about the same, is easier to sharpen and is much tougher. The extra corrosion protction is lagniappe. David I don't know about BD1N, but I do know that Canazes9 gets a star for using Lagniappe in a sentence. Nice job!

Re: 52100

This is such a fun steel to work with. I'm not a great sharpener, but I can get this really sharp. I really like how quickly it develops a patina too.

Re: History & Info on the DYAD Model

I was just about to start a new thread to say the same thing. Yes! the Dyad has never really been brought to it's full potential, but this would do it. Two different steels totally makes sense. SE H-1 and PE LC200N would be about perfect. Then for sprint runs, you could take it in different directio...

The 52100 Military is one of my favorites. I really hope this one actually happens. Or better yet, a 52100 Para 3

Re: [Legal concern] Please use blade lengths like 2.45" / 2.95" / 3.45" instead of 2.5" / 3" / 3.5"

I think what the OP is saying is, document the actual blade length on the on-line catalog. Then, when an officer looks up the knife to verify the blade length of what he/she believes to be a 3" knife is actually listed at 2.95", and is therefore not considered an illegal knife. In Colorado...

I've also been carrying this knife on duty. I love how slim it is. It practically disappears in the pocket, and is the most comfortable knife I've carried. No problems deploying, or closing. As Sal said earlier, there is a learning curve - you just have to use your fingernails to grab the ball. Hone...

I really want to see a pic of the knife blade, and how much it was actually stained/rusted by this exciting adventure.

Re: MT26P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with Micro-Melt® A11 (PMA11)

It was a beautiful partly cloudy day in Colorado today, so I decided to drive up to the Spyderco factory. I picked up one of the PMA11 Mules, along with a sheath and scales. I have to say, the scales are much more comfortable than I ever thought they would be. I can't wait to start trying it out as ...

What am I missing out on by not having a fixed blade knife?

The other day I was thinking about getting a Junction, or Sprig, but while looking at my different Military and Gale Bradley models, I wondered. What would those knives do that a Military can't? I mostly camp, prep food, and might do a feather stick, but no batoning, and no serious bushcrafting. I'v...

I'm not very knowledgeable with regards to robins. Are they found throughout the U.S. or just certain areas? I see blue jays here in Colorado, but I'm not sure if I've seen a robin.

Re: Spyderco choices for law enforcement and correctional officers

I've been carrying the D'allara 3 and have been really happy with it. Here are some points to consider: The pocket clip on this model allows the knife to sit further down on your pocket, thereby concealing it better. This will aid in weapon retention, should a suspect try to disarm you. It's very th...

The first sprint run for the Para 3 could be really awesome with this steel.
