Re: In the end, who are sprint runs up to?

Welp, I’d like to formally apologize for starting this mess of a thread, at least the mess is concentrated (somewhat) in one place... Spyderco had done nothing but good for the knife industry and has been working overtime in this past very difficult year to continue to innovate and bring us new and ...

In the end, who are sprint runs up to?

I was sitting around playing with my Watu and thinking about sprint runs (a usual afternoon really) and it got me thinking, who are sprint runs up to in the end? How do they come to fruition? Like, is there a sprint run team? If a group like BladeHQ comes to spyderco saying they want oh I dunno, a w...

:D ;) :)
+1 for sage 5 salt, and +1 for any regularly available rex45 of any kind.

Half a dozen 2s on the Bay at the moment.
eh as much as I like that shape, I like thumb opening more.

But so you settled on the Native Salt?
I think so, it's got a feeling of solidity I've never felt from any seki's (no offense). The native never fails.

Although I still wish it came in g10...

Re: Salt 2 or native 5 salt?

So I guess the only question is, how much does the Native 5's action improve up over time? Because both examples of the frn native I've handled have had dangerously bad actions.

Salt 2 or native 5 salt?

I’m getting a little tired of messing around with my G10 native salt, so until there’s an official coated release... New knife time! So the question is, do I go for the Native 5 frn salt or the soon to be released salt 2 wharncliffe? Ergonomically and structurally the Native 5 is my absolute favorit...

I've had a realization like this a few months ago. I had just sold a microtech exocet after deciding it wasn't for me, and found out that in my state that it's illegal to own autos . I had been under the impression that they were only illegal to carry lol. Now, just that I get this right: In your s...

how can I rust proof my native?

Howdy. I've had a blade-swapped native salt (lc200n blade into a linerless g10 body) for a while now, and my only issue is some light corrosion on the inside of the backspacer and on some of the screws. I'm wondering what my best bet is for stopping that corrosion, it's my main "active" fo...

Re: Sage 5 LW in alternate steels?

love the series conceptually, as the native is one of my favorite models ergonomically. I'm all for more steel variations of any kind.

Re: Could it be that Spyderco will "rerun" the entire Sage series in Maxamet?

I had sorta assumed the whole series would get a run through with different steels, based on the success of the sage 1 release.

Really I just desperately want a modernized sage 2 with a lockbar insert and fancy steel.

Re: Drop Point/Clip Point vs. Wharncliffe?

The seki style wharncliffe is the best all around blade shape you can get in a pocket knife. Perfect marriage between tip strength, spine strength, slicing and piercing ability. Wharncliffe is always the correct choice for an all around. There's certainly shapes better for very specific tasks, but n...

Re: What "others" are in the mail?

raindrop cf slayback from MBK Knives on it's way, my first decent non spydie in quite a while.

Good to see decent production numbers from a company mostly known for very small limited runs, all three versions still up after a few days after release.
