Re: What's going on with the forum lately?
I think the biggest testament to the general civility of this forum is the lack of bans that happen, and it’s not because the mods are lenient. The only other forum I participated in a lot was a firearm forum geared towards AKs. For one, getting banned at some point was almost a rite of passage, and...

Re: Emphasis
I would also like to poke just a little bit of fun, at Spyderco. Of a picture taken for the newsletter. Of this knife, and a couple of others, in the pocket. Do you notice, what made me smile? :D https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/NkdKkTCfjTaHXX8BqMzXzAu631z1h42dNowhKoX87cT_BDU4hBSHuC867UY7C0cfgjEO0...

Re: Lc200n Manix 2 LW Interest Poll
I still think this would be amazing with translucent yellow scales. I’m assuming the spring is the main hang up for making it a salt, but then I realized that the Autonomy knives have coil springs in them and they are considered salts, so there’s at least already spring material out there that can a...

Re: Lil Native Flytanium scales
Thats not as bad as the copper scales that make the Lil' Native weigh almost as much as a Shaman! I'm sure the extra ounce adds a little more substance to the knife.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 6:51 amFYI to everyone interested in the Ti scales- they do add almost an ounce of weight.

Re: Spydercos self-loosening pivots
What alternatives are there to loctited machine screws? Nylocks, serrated flanges, spring washers, crinkle washers, locking washers all exist. Would we put up with their appearance and other shortcomings, though? I wonder why there isn’t already a proprietary universal self locking pivot screw asse...

Re: Who wants a Dodo?
I'm a little surprised, but ultimately pretty pleased by, all of the "NO" responses on here. I've really wanted a Dodo ever since I first got into Spyderco. There seems to be less fervor for this one than other models released lately *cough*SHAMAN*cough* and hopefully that increases my od...

Re: Spydercos self-loosening pivots
I have a knife from a different manufacturer that goes from perfectly centered to scraping against the liner (it’s a liner lock, so the bar pushes it over) after opening and closing it throughout one day. It’s otherwise a very nice knife. I haven’t had any of my Spyderco’s do it, but it is definitel...

Oh man, if they did re-release it as a sprint run can you imagine the flipping that would happen? There would be more contention than over the Cruwear/Micarta Shaman!

Re: Who wants a Dodo?
I’d love to see it return, or a sprint in a stainless steel, maybe even something like BD1N to make it more affordable as I feel that would help a polarizing design like this sell. Some would take a chance on a design they feel is odd or ugly for ~$100, but for more than $150 I think a lot of peopl...

Re: Can custom para 3 scales be used with para 3 lightweight?
https://i.imgur.com/WzwxqpT.png At the standard Para 3 you have metal liners where on top sits the exchangeable scales. At the lightweight the scale is the handle. Nothing exchangeable there. Not even the blades? Blades are most likely interchangeable. I say that because people have successfully sw...

I sure hope they materialize! A DLC 4V sprint run with tan/brown or ranger/OD green scales would be awesome!! Or even a green/brown burl G10, because I just remembered thats possible.

Re: Can custom para 3 scales be used with para 3 lightweight?
No, in short the construction is completely different. The biggest difference being that the Para 3 LW is linerless, so if you replace the plastic scales that house the integral lock bar, there is no locking mechanism. The G10 Para 3 has steel liners that nest inside the scales normally, which is wh...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?
Mine has already darkened a noticeable amount just from carrying and handling it. I haven't even had a chance to really use it so it doesn't seem to take much to darken the micarta, or maybe I just have oily hands. I was playing with it the other day when I got home from work and I passed out with ...
