Now that I have tried a Native III it seems my search may be over. I'm being entirely serious too. I never would have thought this would be the case but it is. I feel like I have found "The knife". Very high praise, indeed. I hope the long term use provides as much satisfaction for you as...

Great feel in the hand. It is a bit bulky in the pocket, but I don't mind that too much.

One thing to watch is that the pivot doesn't get too loose. With the hefty blade it can have a tendency to flip open when, say, running down a flight of stairs with it clipped to your left cargo pocket... :o

Search and Rescue: Latest call-out

We had a bizarre SAR incident over the weekend. A local woman was found unconscious in the bedroom of her own place by her mother on Thursday night. The younger woman's 1-month old baby was missing. The woman was a diabetic, and had apparently been disoriented and left the baby somewhere, but manage...

Hang in there JD. Things will get better for you. I can't offer much input into your country's economy, but I think we need to be aware enough have our personal affairs reasonably in order so we are not caught out if something like this were to happen to any of us. Thanks for the wake up call, all t...

KSDbass, As for my big orange thing... It's just lifted 2". It's got to be useful during the week as well as on weekends, so I'm pretty much sticking to that. Well, at least that's what I'm telling myself right now. My brother-in-law has a Wrangler on 33's with a bunch of other stuff done to it...

Spydies are nice because the hole can be zip-tied closed. Customs agents are not permitted to cut the zip-tie - or tamper with any object. A knife-with-a-hole should be good to go from there. If the knife has an adjustable pivot, ask your e-retailer to tighten it previous to shipping out. NGK has do...

Good looking truck. A buddy has a 2003 2-door Taco as a work truck and loves it. It's been reliable for him, and he's not too gentle with it. Hopefully the new ones perform as well. He's gone the other way however, instead of 'rollin' on dubs' - he's got MT's and steel rims... :D and a TJM bumper on...

I enjoy getting out on the trails. I've got a 2004 Land Rover Discovery. It's lots of fun to get out and take in some scenery that would otherwise be hard to get to. Here a picture or two of it. http://www.groatnet.com/deeker/albums/userpics/10001/DSCF0077small.jpg http://www.groatnet.com/deeker/alb...

Very thought-provoking thread, Doc. Does one choose to break the law to protect yourself from those breaking the law??? I always carry a knife, lately it's been the Trance. I typically carry a small light if I'm going to be out for a while. I try to be aware of my surroundings. I would sa...

The Tasmans are great, but don't forget to look at the Byrd Crossbill as well. It's got a milder curve to the blade, and Stainless Steel handles, and is fairly inexpensive. A good way to test out the hawkbill-style knives.
