Cool idea wec! This is definitely something I'll consider trying... at the moment, I just pay lots of attention to stop the move before the tip slips over. What one could try too is to start at the tip and PUSH the knife away from you while moving downwards instead of pulling. So you don't use the f...

Playing with my new toy, I was wondering how big this knife actually IS. We all compare unknown knives with the "standard" - Delica and Endura. So I grabbed the new D4 GRE and since my Endura is currently away, a G-10 Cara Cara acts as its substitution. See for yourself: http://i160.photob...

Newest spydie: Pics of my new Stretch I

Hi, couldn't wait till the Endura zdp shows up over here... so I decided to feed my addiction with a NIB Stretch. So far, I love it.... a tad bigger than a Delica, but it's only the blade that makes the difference! I'm looking forward to see it perform as my EDC for the next weeks :) Out of the box,...

Here are some pics of the standard Endura 4 with VG-10 and without the wave.... yes, the scales ARE black, not blueish (darn white balance  ) looking forward to the ZDP E4, too! If you're going to get a NEW Endura, get the ZDP or the waved variation. On the other hand, you may catch a good...

G-10 Cara Cara over here too. With a round hole and VG-10, you would happily buy $100 or more for it. This knife is SOLID! I like it very much.... it's bigger than your 3,5'' limit, though. Ambidextrous, G-10, :spyder: -sharp, full screw construction (-> adjustable pivot), steel liners, steel spacer...

Now if only there was a waved version THATS's what I've been thinking.... also in the Delica's case! I would buy one in a heartbeat :D oh well... perhaps we'll see it in the future... imagine if ZDP would replace VG-10 as the "standard" steel just as VG-10 replaced the AUS steels  So...

Any news?

Since December is long gone... are there any news about the knife? Is it still in use or did W&R have the opportunity to take a look at it? I'm sure there's some interest about it in here  Joe, you've got a good point there with the micoorganisms...but why would they cover only one sid...

Today (as most of the days) it's again my first spydie ever, the Delica 4 Wave :p but how long will this be the case? I hope to receive my designated EDC in a few days (note to myself: give the dealer a call!), the new Endura4 GRE ZDP-189  Looking forward to see how the new magic steel will hol...

YEAH!!

That news just made my day... so there will be a new member in my little :spyder: -family very soon :D

When will they go out to the dealers, Sal? Is the shipment big enough to deliver it to all the important dealers? Can't wait to hold my designated new EDC in my hands...

They do for sure :-) (at least on the "real" Spydercos...the clip of my Cara-Cara didn't end up that nice :o ) The finish on the clips is the one thing that kind of sucks on these knives.... it looks pretty beaten up after just a few days of "pocket time". Interestingly, the fini...

Hmmmm.... perhaps I gave up on it too early... or I just used a wrong technique  the hook just tends to slip off the little spikes of the crown cap and between them (since you can only grab one of them at a time with the wave) So, one more reason to open up a cold one: I need more practice...

Thanks to all for welcoming me! I decided to throw in the remaining pictures of that photosession from last week, at least the ones that are worth it :) Sadly, all pics of the Mini Manix and even more the SS Endura more or less suck, but someday there WILL be a sunny day around here, and then I'll t...

I've tried many times to open a beer bottle with it just because of the apparent purpose... but to be honest: even though I finally managed to open the bottle with the wave, it is not very suitable for it. Opening it with the blade works faster and better when you do it like with a cigarette lighter...

I knew it was too easy :-) bubbamets5505 has it as close as possible, but I *think* these are no gen 3 knives there... for a reason. But see for yourself: http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9616/alletracing1el1.jpg Since they are SS, i think they should in fact be labeled as Delica/endura 2... steel...

Newbie-Hello and more... with pictures!

Hi to all! As this is my first post in this forum, I’d like to introduce myself a bit; I think the story of „How did I come to knives and to Spyderco“ is always fun to read in a “Newbie-post” :D So the story runs… Back in the early 90’s, I was a big fan of the TV show “MacGyver” (yes, I was a kid :p...
