In all honesty, I never even noticed. I have a ZDP Delica I often use as an EDC. Green FRN handle. Great knife. I like the current ergonomics pretty well including how my thumb rests when it's open. Don't look at it much when it's in my pocket. This doesn't mean aesthetics are not a consideration wh...

I believe 'MC66' core on these is actually ZDP 189. Not as cool as the Japanese designs, but nice in their own right and less expensive.

My CTS XHP Millie gets carried regularly. If I lose it, I lose it. It's just a knife.

Not sure how a sweeping curve blade design lends itself to a working knife but I'm sure everyone has their own requirements and preferences. To each their own. I've always found leaf shapes work better for me.

I have a Military model in CTS-XHP. Seems as easy to sharpen as anything else. Second the vote on getting a Sharpmaker and that will work fin. CTS-XHP does seem to hold it's edge a bit longer and it really takes a fine edge without a lot of fuss. Very happy with it thus far.

Spyderco has encouraged us to become Steel Junkies. Nothing trendy about some of the new steels we can get now. They are noticeably better. Still, wouldn't think someone would be using something like the Szabo in an application where S30V wouldn't meet or exceed all requirements. Not like it's made ...

I mean.. there were a lot of Millie M390's in the $225-$250 on Ebay right after they came out. Still several selling in that price range apparently. Buyers with any sense won't be paying 50% mark ups even months after their release.

CF M390 Millie's weren't much more than original cost when they first hit the secondary market. Don't know what they are going for now.

Nice pictures and non-biased comments.

In spite of the obviousness of the forum we're on, I prefer the Millie. Better steel. Lighter weight. Flatter. More useful blade design. No flipper tab. The elegant simplicity of functional design.

Short of comic book scenarios, survival means constructing shelter, making fire, and finding water that won't make you sick. You then await rescue rather than using up all your precious energy wandering aimlessly about. A bigger knife would work better for making shelter so I would pick a Military i...

I'm fine with FRN but prefer the feel and look of G10. Like carbon fiber peel ply even better (since we're talking unnatural materials). I do think I prefer FRN in one area though and that's for fishing knives.

You guys just don't get it. You make fun of "sheeple" who fear knives and then turn around and act like sheep herded by media hysteria on this subject. If the choice is penicillin at a mark up or no penicillin at all, you'd choose none? In a very real sense, that's the decision that many ...

I need to shut up, but one popular misconception really should be challenged. That is that it's wrong to raise prices of an essential good in an emergency situation. That's flat wrong, and preventing it makes the emergency worse. There are a couple of reasons. One is that high prices discourage hoa...

People have a right to do whatever they please with the knives they purchase. If they choose to re-sale them at a profit, not a thing wrong with it. If this exercise of the free market ultimately raises the price of highly desirable models, that's fine and it's the way things work. Ultimately Spyder...

There is something they teach CCW license holders: "show your weapon, go to jail". This applies to knives as well.

The point being, if you pull a knife it had better be for a very good reason since you will be needing to engage a lawyer to sort things out with the authorities.

However, if your purchase is predicated on monetary return, you will find yourself at the whim of fashion a...

Did a quick touch up on my ZDP Delica heading out the door this morning. Piece of cake with DMT diamond stones. Maybe some of the 'hard to sharpen' reports are from folks with softer sharpening tools?
