Learning to Sharpen Knives: Need Advice

One thing that I have never learned to do is sharpen a knife. With my growing interest in knives I feel kind of silly that I don't know how. Given that my almite(slotted) navigator needs some touching up I'm considering a 204 sharpmaker for a purchase. Is this a good set for a beginner? What is the ...

Trying to locate micarta jesters

Wire Clips?

I've noticed that spyderco is using wire clips on the meerkat and the salsa. What are everyone's opinions of these clips? I've never seen one up close, but I hope that spyderco will not make these clips standard issue on future knives. Personally I'm fond of the traditional clips.

Have you considered the almite(slotted) Navigator. It has been my EDC for over a year now. I carried it around campus clipped to my right front pocket and it never drew any undue attention.

Need Advice: SS Delica or Calypso Jr.?

I feel the need to pick up another spydie. I have decided on a P/E delica or calypso jr.

The use would be nothing extravagant, just an edc. I'd like to hear what the spydie guys and gals think. Thanks.

Grip Tape suggestions

I have heard a few people mention using grip tape on spydies with SS handles. I'm considering doing this, but I thought it might look nice if the tape was in some sort of design... maybe the spyderco spyder.

Any idea of how I might do this?

Thanks

A new flag-ship in the spyderco line?

I was just wondering if spyderco is considering a new flagship knife for their line. I could be wrong, but I've always considered this spot to be occupied by the military. While I don't own this knife it seems to be a pretty popular model among forumites. Is spyderco considering a knife that would o...

Not enough praise for the navigator.

My almite navigator has been my EDC for almost a year now. I have purchased others since, but I can't bring myself to carry anything but my navigator. It is an excellent size, and even thought the handle is small the finger groove at the end of the handle allows is to fit my little finger perfectly....

I have both, but have never used the dragonfly because it is engraved. The Navigator is my everyday carry. The finger grooves fit my hand perfectly, outstanding edge and cutting ability. The navigator feels lighter to me than the ss dragonfly plus the clip allows the navigator to ride lower in the p...

I finally graduated!

I finally graduated. BA in psychology with a public relations minor. This semester has been pretty hectic, so I haven't been on the forum for a while.

So, what would be a good spyderco to celebrate with?

Thanks,

Is it possible to post pics?

I was wondering if it is possible to post pictures on the board, and if so how? When my daughter was born Spyderco sent me a SS Dragonfly with her name and birth date engraved on the blade free of charge. I'd like others to see what a nice gesture this was and what a beautiful knife they sent me. Is...

I think the slots on my almite navigator aid in the grip. I would love to see this handle type on the native. Possibly in colors.
