Re: Rhino Rattle

One of my Rhinos did the same exact thing, so I dismantled it to find out why. Interestingly, the rattle would stop whenever the blade was opened and locked. Here's what I discovered: There is a secondary stop pin located near the front finger choil area of the handle. It is somewhat easy to spot i...

Re: On pocket knives in the kitchen…

Don't have much to add save for I am well known to use my folders in the kitchen. I'm also the guy who uses his SAK to open cans rather than a kitchen can opener. It isn't the way to go, but it brings me joy.

Rhino Rattle

My Rhino rattles when the blade is closed. I cannot figure out why. Sounds like it's coming from the pivot area. Also, oddly, when I add oil, it stops rattling. As if it was thirsty and telling me. Any ideas?

Lost my 2017 green alox Cadet in its Hitch and Timber slip. I'm defeated. 5 years of memories with that thing. No idea where it could be. It fell out of my slacks' pocket.

Re: Dedicated Knife

I'm not dedicated haha. Most of my knives have been Spyderco but I wouldn't say dedicated. I like any good knife. And material. Edge type. Spyderco just gets it more often than most. Usually when they make new, interesting designs. GEC is runner up for me. Used to be dedicated to keeping my edges p...

Re: The Delica Wharncliffe is the greatest work knife ever made.

I only have the Hap40 and a couple serrated VG-10 ones. But I love the knife. Kinda want the K390 but I can't decide if I want it just for patina reasons. The Hap40 is more than adequate, in fact a favorite steel of mine. The serrated is amazing and I'm not sure how I came to own multiples lol. My o...

Re: Any Becker Ka-Bar fans in here?

Here is my only non-Becker Ka-Bar. I guess I was wrong about the bakelite I'm pretty sure looking at it again that the handle is celluloid. I haven't turned up much info on it but I'm pretty sure that from what little Ka-Bar history I know that having both the Ka-Bar and Union Cutlery blade stampin...

Should have bought one of the two when they were for sale, especially when clearanced. I regret it. Hopefully it'll make an appearance again.

Re: I don't think the Stretch 2 is boring.

I want a K390 Stretch 2. Like, I really want one. It's top of my list if I get a knife budget again. That said, it is boring. Really nothing about it is super interesting compared to so many other knives even in Spyderco's line up. But, I also like boring knives. Boring knives are good knives.

Re: Color blindness and scale color

Men seem to have a smaller color name vocabulary as well. It's difficult to different shades and colors when you don't have a word for it. In fact, you probably don't even see the color. Such as cultures that didn't have words for the color blue. If you don't have a word for it, it's not real.

Button lock! (Auto Sage would be even cooler).
I believe Sal said he wouldn't do an Axis style lock out of respect for Benchmade in the past.

Back when I shaved my beard I used a safety razor! The single blade old school kinda. I never invested much but I found some good blades somewhere. I grew a beard when I started going to the Orthodox Church and it has kinda of stuck.

I love the xhp so idk that I'd change the steel personally. It's one of my favorite steels for EDC. Serrated might be cool though. I have a thing lately for black blades and brown handles, so I'd buy that albeit might be a bit odd on that knife.

Re: A perspective on a fad in the knife world.

I agree with the "fad" regarding thin grinds. Blade stock isn't a big deal for me, just depends on the knife. But having purchased knives with aggressively thin grinds, it's a big deal. Have quite a few I want reground. But about every other fad is ignorable and YouTube knife reviewers can...
