Re: Sharpening a Knife
Hi Chris, Your Sharpmaker comes with a DVD on using the tool... sal Hi, Sal- I've had my Sharpmaker for about 20 years and I don't think I received disc (would have been a CD, I think?) I've found the 4 videos on YouTube, but haven't watched them yet. Do they contain the same information as the DVD...

Re: Spyderco/flashlight match-up.....
There are some spectacular knive/flashlight combos in this thread. My contribution is somewhat subdued and lets face it cheaper. A Maglight Solitare works well for me. Not very sophisticated but plenty durable; I don't know how many times I have dropped that light. The Navigator II is one of my favo...

Re: When someone says ''Spyderco'' which of there knives comes to mind first?
For me it is the Navigator II. Navigator? Yeah, for me it is the Navigator II, it is a great little knife with VG-10 steel. The handle and blade are shaped like the MeerKat but with a back lock. A nice slender design. Here is the photo I posted in the flashlight thread. To be honest I dehorned the ...

Re: custom shop...
I think a custom shop is doable but it would have to be limited only a few select models and maybe one or two optional blade steels. The handle material would also probably be limited but you could always do runs of selected color G10 or Micarta handle scales. As much as I would love to see it happe...

Re: custom shop...
Buck knives has a custom shop. They have a limited number of models that can be customized and there are limited selections. The options are very nice and you do get a nice knife when it is all said and done. Personally all I really want would be a set of dark blue scales for a Lil Native Without th...

Re: Ever regretted purchasing a Spyderco model or no?
Yeah, I can say that there have been 2 Spyderco knives that left me a little disappointed. A Dragonfly and a Lil’ Native both left me a little disappointed. The handle on the Dragonfly doesn’t fall my hand as I would like and the Lil’ Native it is the compression lock. I should have waited and bough...

Re: FRN vs G10 vs Wood: Strengths and Weaknesses in each for Spyderco Knife Handles?
Speaking only for myself I am a big fan of wood, G-10 and micarta. The FRN handled knives just feel cheap to me. I am positive that FRN makes excellent handles and do a wonderful job but I am just fond of them.
I do love a nice set of wood handles or polished micarta.

Re: Throwback Thursday for Spyderco's
I hope I did this correctly. This is a Spyderco that I have had bouncing around in my toolbox for a couple of decades. I tried cleaning it up a bit and I am surprised at how hard it is to open one handed. I can't seem to get any leverage on the hole. I usually just use two hands. Does anyone know w...

I have to admit I carried my Dragonfly around for a month before replacing it with my Lil' Native. I happen to like small knives.

What to say about the hump getting the way on a Spyderco knife? Buy a Spyderco Lil’ Native, it does not have a hump!

That is just like my Spyderco Sharpmaker. I also have a couple of Spyderco’s benchstones. I like those very much.
