Re: Steel preference for Caly 3.5 LW?

Didnt Sal say something about making it in K390 on an older caly LW thread? I'll see if I can find the quote. Think it was on his Bombshell thread

Re: Reprofiling M390 using Sharpmaker CBN rods

Thats why I'm glad to have picked the Edge Pro years ago. I can adjust the rod holding the stone or plate based on thickness difference.

Re: Endela-thread

Ok, but how does the Endela feel in the hand vs the Endura? Large hands want to know. Doc, was the Endela uncomfortable for you? It was for me. My natural grip of the knife put the "hump" in an uncomfortable position. I know I'm not the only one here who has had the same issue. The Endela...

Re: Hap40 Wharnie D'fly

Fortunately, for the Dragonfly Wharncliffe, I think the vg10 model will sell well enough to justify the sprint run. If I was going to make an educated guess based on recent history, I would say it's obvious that HAP40 will be the first sprint run for this knife. Probably no need for a poll. True. B...

Re: Hap40 Wharnie D'fly

Since the wharnie D'fly has been slowly popping up, I think someone should run a steel poll for this model

Re: Para 3 love??

The Para3 fits perfectly for my size hands. Liked it so much, that I have it in 4 steels( REX45, S90V, CPM M4, and CPM 4V). The most important thing is that you go for what you want and what works for you.

Re: Reprofiling M390 using Sharpmaker CBN rods

I dont have experience with M390, 204P, or 20CV. But, I have expereience in reprofiling steels, the most challenging being S90V. The most important thing is consistancy. You can do it faster, but speed can have higher risk for mistakes I've even found the old 440V ( S60V) to even be more stubborn t...

Re: Sal, would a Native 5 LW in Cruwear

I won't rest until all three of the Golden LW models have been done in Cruwear. I don't want to have to start meming them into existence like Maxamet, but I may be forced to go that route soon! :D Please do :D . Its long overdue for the Native5 LW and many more models to get a Cruwear run. Bring on...

Re: Trendy steels

I find every new ( to me) steel fasinating. Each one with their pros and cons. Then, there are times when I just love the design of the knife regardless of steel type. In the end for me, a new steel to play with is a new adventure. After all, Every Steel Has Appeal

Re: V-toku2 observation and update

Gotta love the little-big D'fly! I was the one with an Endura that was having terrible wire edging for the first two sharpenings (which I didn't realize the first time 'round, but resolved on the second go) and 1 to 2mm sections of the edge fracturing out with normal cutting tasks. It seems like mi...

My question is, when will SuperBlue come up in another folder again? That's what I'd like to know! I think it looks awesome. I dont think you need to do any more work on the scales. But, like with any creator, you are your own toughest critic.

V-toku2 observation and update

Just wanted to do an update on my experience with V-toku2. On the thread "V-toku2 Love" someone was mentioning how they had issues with their V-toku2 model. Not to mention some folks not getting a good over all performance with the steel. Heres a link to my latest video on the steel after ...

Re: Which steel "spoiled" you?

D2 was the first steel that spoiled me. I had learned very quickly that it takes about three sharpenings before performance got better. Fast forward to today, for a stainless steel, S90V is my current spoiler. For a non-stainless steel, I would have to give that title to M4 until I put my 4V and REX...
