First was the Manix2... wow what a knife (yes a bit big and beefy, but that grows on you when EDC'ing it for a work knife).

Now, I'm starting to really enjoy the Military...making it hard for me to decide which I'll EDC :)

My Manix also can be open like this. marcus1, perhaps your Manix isn't broken in enough yet. I wasn't able to flick my Manix opened when I first got it and for a couple weeks after that, but it's gotten a whole lot smoother since then. The Manix can also be opened by just disengaging the lock (no n...

Oh ! The Manix2 can be flicked open with the thumb, I'd have said it was easier than the Delica, probably due to it's big heavy blade.. When you say "flicked" do you move your wrist? What I'm talking about is just using a flick of your thumb in the whole... NO wrist/hand movement! I find ...

I work on a Farm... I use to carry exclusively an Endura G-2 SE before I was bit, and now alternate between my Military S30V CE and my Manix2 HXP.

Military Pivot - more like it?

I'm falling deeper in love with the Military (although my Manix2 HXP is likely still my top choice). The pivot on the Military is nothing short of brilliant! With enough force of your thumb in just the spidie hole it will flip open and securely lock in solidly with one small, ultra smooth, motion! A...

I hope that if they do stay that the "switch permanently" doesn't mean we lose the ability to buy full spidie edge saber ground versions

But does this work when you have a micro/back bevel (30 deg, then 40 deg)?
As when I tried the sharpie trick on my new slightly used Millie, I found that only the very edge had the black removed when using the 40 deg setting and Fine rods in my SM.

I'm guess that is suppose to happen...?

I love the hole :D
However, on a Manix (or likely any bolt/bearing lock knife) you don't need it :)

My last off topic reply in this thread of great reply's mixed with a couple sour apples. This forum is suppose to be for people to discuss and aid each other in everything Spidie? You can't drop any knife on a hard surface and expect it to come through unscathed. Whether it is a Spydie made with the latest and greatest high-tech materials or a Pakistani special that was hammered out on a rock down by the river, it doesn't matter. Carelessness on the user's part does not cons...

I like my CF Caly3 ZDP as its very light and rides low thanks to its wire clip.

Spidie Hole Pateneted right?

Then why this knife? Benchmade 10402-1
Or does spyderco license others to use the thumb-hole?

Then of course there are others that simply use a different shape, but I still wonder how they get away with it (except Byrd knives of course :) ) ... humm...?

I thought I would never move away from my Endura... but after carrying a Manix2 for only a couple days, I keep gong back to it day after day :)
Now I have the Manix2 HXP PE, so I carry it and my Endura SE :)

I would recreate the edge (I'm a newbie too, so some more experinced guys may correct me) - this also assume the steel is of decent quality otherwise recreating the edge may work but not hold up. Using diamond rods (or Medium if you don't have them, should work just take longer). Create an edge on t...
