Mine finally landed today after 7 months and basically forgetting about it. Worth it for the $114 November 2022 asking price?

Re: Sage 5 Upgrade
Parsons Blade Works has a few. I purchased the shredded carbon fiber scales and love them. They fit perfectly and are huge upgrade. Here is a link: https://parsonsbladeworks.bigcartel.com/ I’ll second that…the sage 5 in their micarta is my most carried 3”. The m4 sage 5 in their carbon fiber is my ...

Re: Caribbean: it’s that time of year again…
I purchased a Caribbean sheeps foot serrated last month. It's been sitting in a cold Indiana tackle box for weeks waiting to cut. It's my new fishing/bait knife. I'm headed to Florida for vacation in 2 weeks. I cant wait to finally use the thing. I have a feeling you’ll like it. It’s been my main f...

Caribbean: it’s that time of year again…
This is my favorite time of year and this knife is hugely emblematic of it:
Busting out the fly rods, hitting the rivers for the first time this spring and fiddling with my caribbean on the ride is one of those “yessss, happy days are here again” feelings.

Re: How do you prefer to "Spydie-Flick"?
I know what you mean. I’ve seen a few people do it that way. I keep my third and fourth fingers wedged in front of the clip. It’s not so much for safety as it is for leverage, etc. I think it’s an unconscious thing for most people. However you got it when you were new is likely how you’ll end up doi...

CPM Cruwear exhibiting extreme temporal retention of front end sharpness: DCDF2148-794D-45C8-9E23-7F3FD22D4751.jpeg Found a hair on my jacket this afternoon and figured “might as well”. After two months the PM2 is almost exactly as sharp as I left it in early January. I remember sharpening it right ...

I haven’t held a native 5 in g10 but it’s as grippy as a g10 Manix if you have any experience with those

Re: New Sprint Drop Coming Soon!
I’ve been loving this thing…I carry it into the city pretty consistently
Quick bit of advice. If you wanna keep the blade in good shape, avoid abrasive materials if you can (cardboard, etc). I’m keeping mine strictly EDC…simple city carry stuff. These blades are known to scratch incredibly easily

I’ll toss this over here as well, since it’s becoming a more robust discussion.
Went through a normal sharpening routine with the k390 delica. I’m going to put it away for the initial period of a month and see how the edge performs then.

Re: Temporal Edge Retention
Made a quick video of the “methodology” involved…posted it to my long-neglected secondary YouTube channel. Since this is potentially a phenomenon that affects the users in the real world, I’m not doing anything funny. Just a typical, freehand, Delica sharpening…put it away til march then check it ou...

Re: Temporal Edge Retention
You probably just deburred those edges better on Cruwear and XHP. I’ve considered that and it’s not impossible. I’m typically very meticulous about burr removal…alternating strokes and passes through wood before stropping…that Murray Carter influence… I’ve been trying to knock out as many variables...

Temporal Edge Retention
I’ve been noticing a phenomenon for the last few years…some steels keep their front end sharpness over time without any use and others seem to very subtly dull, even without use. I’m not sure what makes this happen…it seems to be a subcategory or edge stability. Maybe it’s corrosion on a microscopic...

Re: KnifeCenter Manix 2 XL Cruwear/Smooth G10
Ordered…my cruwear/smooth g10 lil native (now wearing micarta) made a believer out of me. Cruwear is my favorite edc steel and the scales are comfortable enough that even if I go Crucarta, they’ll end up on another knife. This is one of my favorite “exclusive” configurations. This will also be my fi...

Re: K390: Seki vs Golden?
I have no experience with any k390 other than seki (for which I have almost every model) but whatever they’re doing over there, it’s “right”. The treatment of the k390 that gets sent there is all I’d really ever want out of k390.

Re: "sharpener's steels"
Magnacut sharpens like a “sharpener’s steel” to me. I don’t think it’s ubiquitous enough to hold that title yet but I have a feeling it might someday.

Super Blue Dragonfly Initial Impressions
The super blue DF2 landed. It was a natural buy for me. I love the dragonfly, I’d yet to own a laminated Spyderco, I hadn’t owned a zome model yet and most importantly, it’s the first super blue I’ve ever encountered. The gray is a little lighter in shade than I was expecting and the the markings lo...

Re: CPM SPY 27 Long Term Use
I’ve carried my spy Manix quite extensively. A few observations… It’s not an edge retention monster. It’s not meant to be. IIRC, it’s meant to be a particle metallurgy evolution of VG10. That could be ENTIRELY wrong but I feel like I’ve heard it from several independent sources. That being said it h...

Re: A tail of two PM2s
Your PM2s have tails? Hmmm…that’s one of the few instances I’m which I’d probably return.. I’ve had individuals like your top picture. One of my P4s has a similar issue with the liner in the same area. It doesn’t affect the action and I only think about it when someone talks about having a similar i...
