Re: Maxamet Sage 5 LW Discussions
Probably Parsons Bladeworks. I have their smooth titanium scales and the tolerances take out all the blade play on the LW model. https://parsonsbladeworks.bigcartel.com/product/spyderco-sage-5-lightweight-scales-carbon-fiber That’s them…haven’t tried their titanium but I have a few sets of their mi...

Re: Reveal 14 is on FIRE
Agreed…for my personal tastes, this is the most stacked “reveal” I’ve seen since I’ve been a spyderco nerd.
Almost too many models/variants to mention…from salt to crucarta and the sage 5 lw. It’s unreal…

Re: Maxamet Sage 5 LW Discussions
This is my most anticipated release from this round (which is saying a lot because this was one of the best ever for my personal tastes)…it MIGHT be tied with the crucarta millie 2. MIGHT be… I’ve really been appreciating the maxamet sage 1 recently and the sage 5 lw is the best 3” spyderco ever mad...

Re: Reveal 14 Live!
The expansion of the salt and crucarta series goes without saying…that’s incredible…
But the Sage 5 lw in maxamet turned my head immediately. It’s great to see the sage 5 lw line continuing so strongly…now we just need THAT in crucarta and I can die happy

Re: Will Factory Switch Blades/Scales Between Knives? (Same Model)
I actually understand why Golden doesn’t do stuff like this. I’ve swapped the scales on many, many knives…back locks, comp locks, manixes…and it almost always changes the knife fundamentally. It’s not a bad thing usually and in fact, sometimes it’s a REALLY good thing (getting a pair of titanium sca...

Re: Love of the Nub
Agreed…it’s a bit annoying to see that point come up on a near-constant basis when people talk about the Shaman. I’ve been “moving my finger” for so long, it’s just a nonissue…it wouldn’t even occur to me if it wasn’t for the fact that other people bring it up. It’s just odd that “the nub” is a non-...

Re: S30V, S45VN or S90V. Is one of these better?
The difference between 30 and 45 are gonna be somewhat minimal…especially in real world use. S90V is what you buy if you want ultimate edge retention in a stainless steel. It’s basically at the top of the heap. If you’re not gonna be too rough on the knife, you’re good with sharpening or you know so...

Re: Any love for the Amalgan?
Decided to resurrect this thread instead of posting a new one and adding to the madness. What a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL knife this is. It takes everything I love ergonomically about the civivi incite (my all-time favorite flipper) and makes it Spyderco. On top of that, it has a nice, stout tip which I ...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
Absolutely…I’m an American but I support anything that helps interested people to get their hands on good knives, regardless of location. The Urban, UKPK, etc. are great little models for a lot of metropolitan people in the states as well since those laws tend to be more in line with mainstream Euro...

Re: SALT Shaman, Thoughts?
I'd buy a carribean before I'd buy a salty shaman. Bingo…this is the answer, imo. I’m a huge Shaman advocate. It’s the most comfortable Spyderco to me…on top of that, it’s very neutral and relatively non-intimidating for its capability…all things I look for in a knife. But I’d you’re a Shaman guy, ...

Re: magnacut - mule v native - how did it evolve?
Mine seem pretty similar. I seem to recall the mule sharpening up a little quicker upon receipt but that could mean nothing when it comes to the steel’s heat treatment. Other than that, it’s a bit tough to get empirical data between the two since the native is sooooooo much easier to carry and use o...

It’s funny this comes up now…I had a dream last night that I actually broke my “flagship” P4 during deployment. When I carry that knife, I have this weird habit of removing it from my pocket and middle finger flicking it open in one motion. In the dream, I did that and the blade never stopped…it kep...

Re: Are We Witnessing The Death Knell of K390 In Production Folders?
I suppose, in my collection, it doesn’t matter that much since I have every k390 model I wanted. But it would be an unbelievable shame to ever see the k390 Delica, P4 and ESPECIALLY stretch go away. The k390 stretch is one of those knives that’s almost indescribably perfect to me. The only backlock ...

Re: The Sage: A stellar EDC
The Sage 5 lw is probably my most recommended knife…and I consider the m4 version to be the flagship of my 3” spydercos
I really, reheheaaallyyy wish they’d release one in cruwear so I could have a crucarta Sage 5 lw. That’s my ultimate 3” Spyderco

Re: Native vs Lil' Native
Because of work and my proximity to Boston, the lil native is probably in my top 3 most carried. The niche that it fills is that it’s small but it’s really diesel. I have a lil native with titanium scales and in all honesty, I have more faith in that knife’s structural integrity than some of my Demk...

Re: LC200N Salt 2 Incredible
LC200N is one of those steels that deserves the hype it gets. It gets so sharp so easily…I have no idea what type of condition my Caribbean is in at the moment (since we’re so deep into fishing season) but I can guarantee that it still whittles hair in several spots…

You’re doing better than you think you are. You got an edge worth using and you didn’t do anything silly (like those meme photos we’ve all seen from “professional sharpeners” at the mall). Hang in there and keep practicing.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
That's cool! I guess that's the ideal answer to all the folks who said they disliked the pale green of the M4 Sage! Absolutely…I actually don’t mind that scale color (probably because green is my favorite color). …but I like micarta more. If it’s financially reasonable, I pretty much never pass up ...
