The earliest models had the engraved thin numbers as collectors numbers.

I have several boxes in my collection which have had a new tag on top of an older.
Very often either due to incorrect writing on the original tag or an experimental turned production :)

I also sincerely hope Sal will chime in!

I know that there's been PIG Polices with Collectors numbers, so i believe this is definitely a collectors number.

While we are on topic, and if Sal indeed chimes in, i would like to know which knife was the first with a Collectors number?

There's a lot of knowledge in pic's where both the knife and the box shows.
I never knew that the earliest FRN Delica's came in boxes marked 1011 for instance.

I carry the original Viele now, i carry a green Lum Chinese on occasions and i have a Micarta Dyad jr. which i carry every now and then.
Also original Spyderwrench, G10 Navigator, C09 CoPilot and a Lil'T.
None of these are in any form abused though. I have Mora's for that.
