I also missed out on the Para 2 CF S90V. It's definitely time for another run of these. If not
S90V, another quality steel will work. PLEASE!

Plain edge in H-1 works for me. I could see gifting a couple of these to fishin friends. Would be too fine for a flounder fillet. Prefer a stainless clip (or none). Thinking skeletonized liners would add a little weight and structural integrity.....but also might hold blood and guts? Lanyard hole mu...

I remember the first Spydie I saw years ago with the serrated blade and VG-10. This stuff was tuff as nails.... like gristle tuff. Sorta like a Superman metal. Still really respect the VG-10 for all it's attributes. Few do it as well as Spyderco. Being around salt water regularly, the H-1 seems like...

I guess we are all looking for perfection in a new knife, however that doesn't always seem to happen. I got a ZDP Delica that had a very slight imperfection (nick) on the spine of the blade. Not to worry, IMO overall Spyderco does a great job in quality control of a production knife. I don't remembe...

I do the same, in fact I sometimes sharpen the neighbors and friends knives just for the heck-of-it. Last time I sharpened the neighbors knives (caterers) one of the employees sliced their finger pretty badly.

That looks sorta looks like trap sand on the blade, and the knife looks like it set it the bilge or untouched under a fish box or some traps for a while. Thanks for sharing. I realize this is a "worker" but I commercial fished for some years. Guess I'd probably have cleaned and sharpened m...

I sorta liked the blast from the past, and still like the VG10 :) Spyderco make it one tough metal.

That's a great deal. If I didn't already have the plain and serrated 91's I'd be jumping on it. Still waiting on 2 others backordered at CS. Enjoy.....the H1 is a fine creation. The fixed blades, both plain and serrated in H1 are special. A beautiful and functional design. When the spider bites, it ...

Like the VG10 but the Endura in ZDP is the cats meow. The skeletonized stainless liners keep it light and make it strong. Brief stropping makes this one sharp puppy. G10? VG10? What's that?

One beautiful knife. I sure love mine. Wish the there were no extra clip holes. Still a classic.... better in the hand than in the pics. Lock up is sooooo solid. Was considering the Al Mar 2000 but the Vallotton changed my mind.

Thanks folks for the responses. The DVD that came with the sharpmaker said most spydies should be done at 40, that's why I've always done this. Guess I'll have to watch this again tonight. Spent a bunch-o time this weekend going thru different knives, including kitchen blades, fillet knives etc. and...

Angle for ZDP on sharpmaker

How time flies.... several posts here say the ZDP should be done at the 30 degree setting on the sharpmaker. I just ordered the Caly3 in ZDP and would appreciate any tips/advice on keeping this baby sharp. I have good success on my VG-10 and other steels using the sharpmaker at 40 degrees and a stro...

Must say, I've tried almost everywhere online and barring a rediculous price $150+ haven't been able to find the Black plain blade Aqua. Would anyone with suggestions please PM me? I've called a bunch-o places and no one seems to have them in stock. Thanks T
