Re: Another way to find out which of your Spyders you really need ;) (Phantasy-knife-world: Court took all your knives..

In order of allowance:

1. Para3 cpm 4v
2. Shaman s30v
3. Para3 cpm s90v
4. Delica4 wharnie hap40
5. Outside of rule: rassenti midsize snafu

And if I cant get number5, I wait out the rest of the sentence with the other 4.

Re: To M4 or not to M4...

I feel people need to experience more Cruwear , 4v , Rex 45 , K390 , and 10v. People don't know what they haven't really gotten a chance to play with, they might feel that these other materials offer more performance than M4, but M4 is what people know and what's available for people to buy in prod...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

1. cpm 4v since I have been collecting different steels, 4v has been the one that got my attetion the most. Having it go from cutting paper, cardboad to carving up hard and seasoned wood while still holding a hair whittling edge is real treat. I'm not ignorant to the fact that its not stainless, but...

Re: To M4 or not to M4...

I dont think that rex45 should replace m4 because both steels have one up over each other. Rex45 has better edge retention than m4, and m4 has better impact resistance than rex45. So all in all, its a matter of what the user is really looking for in the trade off. Do you want a knife that you can ac...

Re: Shaving sharp off a reprofiling stone

I find too often that factors like materials being cut, initiation of the cut, cutting angles, and sharpening progressions ate often overlooked. There are those of us with enough experience with different steels and sharpening methods that new steels in our posession truly means a new adventure and ...

Re: 3V or 4V Steel in a folder.

My experience with 4v is, when sharpened to a high fine grit and then stropped with diamond compound on leather, it holds a high level sharpness for a few weeks and a working edge for a few weeks giving the user well over a month of cutting( if stropped once each week). In terms of corrosion resista...

Re: Thoughts on elmax?

I have only one knife in elmax ( Marfione Anax). Its a type of steel that is packed with a generous amount of carbon and chromium as well as a few other composites trickled in there. While its hair whittling sharpness drops fairly quick, it truly excels in the working edge department. Best to keep a...

Re: How often do you sharpen your babys

For me, not often. I have a collection of knives, they are properly sharpened for optimal performance which means for the most part, I can get away with using a knife exclusively for a month. Only thing I do to them in between that time is strop them. Once they start struggling to cut printing paper...

Re: Cruwear ?

Cruwear is a very capable steel. Recently, did a cut test after sharpening my Delica in cruwear. It did a total of 270 cuts going through 336ft total of cardboard ( this is the amazon shipping box cardboard). In terms of corrosion resistance, it holds up better than the other tool steels ( even for ...

Re: Rusty Waterway - Your Thoughts

In all honesty, how could it still be considered a Waterway without the lc200n steel? I think tool steels should be put on another fixed blade design or be called something else if it were to follow the waterway design. I vote for the WOODWAY ;)

Re: Reveal Three Sprints Sell Out Timeframe

I'm only gonna be speaking for the shops here in Canada that will receive these. For the Shaman sprint, I estimate it will take between 24-48 hours to sell out. For the stretch2 sprint, I estimate it to take between 4-7 days as it will appeal to those that want a pm2 style blade that doesnt come wit...

Re: St Nicks Knives Exclusive 4V Shaman - Available 9/19/19

I've been going through all my contacts trying to find someone near their store. I think this one will be a lot more popular than the lil native run. They pretty much stated a pm2 run is incoming in their Instagram comments too. Ever since I got the para3 4v, I was amazed by the performance of the ...

This is great news, although we all have to keep in mind that the plans for the knives in this steel wont start until october. In other words, we wont be seeing them until some time next year.

Anyone who followed Peter Rassenti's work over the year should remember that Peter originally made the Nirvana a small 3 inch folder, then later made the large Nirvana ( which was the design that spiderco picked up). If your only looking st Peter's work now, the "3.0" in his new Nirvana li...
