Mine is really simple. I want a G10/VG10 Caly 3. I know Sal said we are getting a Superblue Caly 3 and i will get one of
those as well. I love my Caly 3.5 but would really like the smaller version as well.

Well i received my Stretch & Techno this past Saturday, didn't order the ZDP Delica. Not yet anyway. I did order the VG-10 Stretch and i know i'm really going to like this knife. I said earlier that this was going to be my Saturday work in the yard, chore type blade and probably not my EDC but i...

Sorry, I attempted to indicate that the FFG Delica would be thinner behind the edge than the Stretch. A reason I pointed to clarify the flat-saber vs FFG with Jeff. Great point and agreed! They are wrong per the spec sheet. http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=285 Sorry, never checke...

Very nice :) The ZDP-189 Delica will have a bit better edge geometry as it's thinner (2.5mm vs 3mm). You might email Jeff at CS and ask if it's the full flat ground or saber ground one though. I know he answers his phone readily too. If you have no preference don't worry. They just went to FFG as a...

I've got a Delica 4 with saber grind, and I kind of doubt that it's thinner behind the edge than the Stretch, even if the blade stock is thinner; there's a lot of steel in that primary bevel -- I know, because I thinned mine down to 20 degrees inclusive, a task which took me several hours, and crea...

Thanks again guys for the helpful replies. Got it figured out, going with a ZDP blade but its going to be on a Delica 4. Also buying a Stretch in VG-10 and using the extra $28.00 toward a Techno ! Just put those three in my shopping cart at the Cutlery Shoppe.
Thanks again,

Want a new Stretch, which steel ?

Hello everyone As title says i'm going to get a new Stretch, just don't know if its worth the $28 difference for ZDP over VG-10. I know thats not alot of money, just wondering if there is that much performance over the VG-10 steel. I already own 6 knives with VG-10 and i like it alot. I don't own an...

I've had my Sage 1 for 4 or 5 weeks now and it's fit & finish are as close to perfect as you can get from a production knife ! This is my 3rd Taichung knife ( have a GB & Chaparral also) and i'm more impressed with these 3 then any of my Golden or Japanese made folders. I ordered the S1 &...

BTW The Deacon is 100% correct in his description on the single chicago screw style fastener. You will need 2 seperate T8 torx driver/bits to tighten both
sides at the same time. I assume the Chaparral also uses T8, thats what my Caly 3.5 was.

Snapped my wire clip on my 2 week old caly 3.5, called SFO and was told the silver clip was on backorder. Was sent a black clip for a chaparral. 2 days mail to
North Carolina for $8.90. Great service !

Again, thanks for everyones replies ! Ordered a Sage1 last night from the Cutlery Shoppe. BTW, Jeff told me the CF Caly3 (was) his EDC until he got his hands on a Sage1. I think something may be wrong with me, i haven't even received my Sage and i'm already plotting my next purchase. Pretty sure i'm...

Thanks everyone for your input ! I pretty much have decided on the Sage1. I have one question.........i assume the ZDP steel is different on the Delica4 FFG then the laminated ZDP on the Caly3, is one better/worst than the other ? rodloos commented earlier about the Caly3 blade scratching easy. The ...

Sage 1 or Caly 3 ZDP

New knife time again and this time i want something a little larger than my Chaparral and a little lighter than my Native 5. These two knives, especially the Sage 1 really stands out to me. I know the N5 is only 3.7 oz and really isn't that heavy, just want something that feels a little lighter/smal...

Thanks Kardinal, if i don't that will be fine. I don't have any sprints at this time and i have really been eyeing the Massad Ayoob as maybe my next purchase ? And Jack, i'm glad that made sense to you, i knew i would probably get blasted for making a comparsion between the Chaparral and the Sage 1....

If nothing else having 10 Spydercos makes you very aware of most of their line. So until they come up with your dream knife I think you should get a Sage4. Your desire for G-10 doesn't scream "pretty" knife. I think the Sage4 is a beautiful knife but doesn't scream "display" bea...

Owner of 10 Spydercos now !! Actually received #s 9 and 10 at the same time. A Chaparral and a Superleaf and i really really love them both. So now that i'm a PRO, i know what would be MY dream knife. A Native 5 sized (6 3/4 to 6 7/8) knife with a FFG 3mm M4 blade with black G-10 scales and compress...

"GASP". Can't believe you blasphemed the GB. May the knife gods and the man himself (Gayle Bradley) forgive you. :D Just kidding. It's great to get a knife to feel like that. Glad the Chaparral cleaned out fast also. That is a great EDC knif IMO. Except for one thing. The blade is t...

Have you open/closed the Chaparral A LOT? I did mine and the grittyness which was bad is completely gone. I mean I played with it when watching TV, walking dog, sex, anything that didn't require much concentration. I don't know what was causing it but I've thought the pins on the tang that ride in ...
