Re: Help me please

I just recently bought three(3) Spydercos from BHQ within three(3) weeks.
Is that some kind of record ?? OR is that the beginning of a long term illness ?

Re: Spydie Hole sharp edges

Hand chamfer them with a countersink bit.
IOW, hold the bit in your hand and chamfer the holes a little at a time
until they are what you like.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread

I'm ex 21 years in Air Force and 10 years Security, so I like the simplicity and practicality of S30V. Basic "tools" like Glocks and knives with S30V blade steels. Although I do have 4x H1 serrated Spydies, which of course are easy to maintain. PS, I've got a second Shaman (all black) on t...

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread

Victory!!! I ate a whole packet of weeties and was able to loosen the pivot screw. Correction: In my earlier post I incorrectly stated I used a T8. Screw to loosen is on the non-clip side. I used a S10 Chapman bit (T10 Torx) Still needs to be "worked"(opened and closed many times), but sho...

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread

Thanks Sal. I didn't really sprain my thumb, but I could not open blade the regular way with my right thumb. I had to use both hands to open blade. Question: If I carefully use a heat gun to heat the screws will the blue loctite ?? soften enough for me to loosen the blade pivot screws ? Maybe I just...

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread

I just sprained my thumb trying to open my new serrated Shaman.
I used a T8 , but screws would not budge.
The pivot screws must be red loctited in.
I've been working the action and applied plenty of oil.
Anybody else have this "problem" and found a solution ??
Thanks and I love this forum.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

I've got a new Shaman on the way and a new PM3 serrated arrived today. This knife is very close to perfect ie it opens easily-not sticky etc and swings freely to close.:-) :-) I drank an extra Corona to celebrate.

Re: Loctite won’t cure on pivot screws

I've had previous curing problems with blue loctite on my Glocks(sight screws) Screws: male and female threads must be absolutely clean or loctite will not dry. Must have patience to get a reliable outcome. I don't recommend using RED loctite unless you have a blowtorch and jackhammer handy. Not sur...

Re: Camo military cqi?

I have two Spyderco Militarys in front of me. One is the very latest(I believe) and it has a Camo G10 handle and Black Blade and has a black machined lock pin. Also has all black torx screws. The other Military is almost identical except it has a stainless (shiny)torx lock pin and (shiny)stainless t...
