It's a metaphor... In knife terms, USING the knife might be considered "making love" or whatever you want to call it. Besides, I didn't state that the metaphor was completely perfect. If you don't understand the simple moral I was trying to put across, try not to complicate it. If you do ...

My last post is in no way intended to insult Jenner's idea of "the one" knife. I can respect that view and I believe I understand the romanticism that he sees in such a perspective. I personally think that it's limiting oneself from enjoyment of a lot of cool knives, but coming from Jenner...

Lostification, I just thought it was a pretty sarcastic comment, but I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. My suggestion was an attempt to give Jenner a different perspective to maybe see a brighter side of his situation. The way I interpreted your comment was that you were equating EDC rotat...

When I first read about how great Spyderco knives were, I thought they were going to look fantastic. But when I saw the Manix, I couldn't believe how ugly they were. And now, after about 2 years of reading, I just traded off my last Benchmade (a great knife BTW) for a CF ZDP189 Caly 3. Now all of my...

Wow, Kaizen. Sounds like you happened across a good thing! I would definitely snatch that Lil Temp up as quickly as possible though. Somehow, I bet that the clerk does not realize that is a discontinued model that is extremely hard to find now. I have a hard time imagining that they would be able t...

I only have an S30V Para. But all of the options are great high end steels, including S30V. I don't think you'll have any problems with any decision you make. I'd go for the CF BG42 because I like the carbon fiber handles. I like Yab's suggestion, grab either a CPM D2 or a BG42 since they're limited.

If I were you, I'd be having fun with both knives. Nothing like having multiple quality options for EDC rotation.

The edge retention on it is fine. We're all spoiled knife nuts with superman steels.

Just found a local knife shop

I can't believe how close this shop is. I've been driving as far as 45 minutes from my place to handle knives. This shop is 3 (long) blocks away!!! It was in a plaza and the sign is blocked from the street by trees. My girlfriend and I were driving by it and she said "Hey look, there's a knife ...

MW.
I think it's been referred to as "work hardened". They might mean the same thing, I wouldn't know.
